Very interesting shout with Emiliano Grillo- an excellent -4 start from him.

Going with my 2 Open picks who gave me a decent run for my modest stake before ultimately disappointing. Andy Sullivan 125/1 and Francesco Moliniari 150/1.

Unless Kaymer does one of his runaway back 9s here, you'd have to say anyone under par would be reasonably pleased- it's a right challenging old course is this and I suspect there will need to be some fair old or saving for anyone who wants to be the Champ.

I've backed him several times in recent years to reasonable success. Fantastic golfer, just needs to control his In game thoughts and not let one shot upset him too much. I'd be happy if he placed in this but he is definitely one to keep an eye out on in regular tour events too.

For some reason Hills left Reed at 125/1 after he finished his first round with 2 birdies which they seemed to have ignored so topped up another small bit at that. Everyone else had him around 50s after his two birds so thought I'd take advantage of this rick. He's started his second round well. Also topped up on Rory at 45/1. I suspect this could be chopped if he starts birdying as a few out there are.

Day and Stenson look the two favs from these current positions.

My 4 have all worked their way under par but with Fowler heading my charge (-4) from Scott (-3), they have plenty of work to do against the leaders unless the front runners make a mistake.

Stenson is like the iron man these past few weeks- he looks unfazed by anything! Even a dropped shot he can just put to one side and bounce back and he has to have a judge chance to go back to back!

McIlroy is a guy who doesn't quite know where he is at the moment.

The other two most high profile "project children" of recent years deliver..Woods and Hamlton..Rors has stalled..big time.

Worth noting that he has posted two birdie free rounds in majors in 2 of his last 7 prior to today.

Some clown posted, name escapes me,that he admired his honesty for dissing the Limpics.

McIlroy and honesty..where do you start.

Described the Ryder Cup as something he wasn't interested in..backtracked to articulate that he loves it.

Said of The Open that he wouldn't change his game for an event that means playing in bad weather..now he loves the challenge..apparently..when he got the draw that afforded less wind than a bathroom extractor fan to lift the jug

Sent his marriage invitations on Friday and decided on Monday he didn't want to get married..CW was informed by phone and hasn't heard a dickie bird since.

Claimed he didn't want to commit to the Olympics because of his split/dual nationality(I know the feeling)
but this was all a ruse, when he did commit to the GUI,which had supported him all his life,Ziga gave him an easy out.

Sponsored by Honda he left the course at the 9th after facing a front nine of 49..admitted to two journalists in the car park park that his "head had gone" but his PR team cited toothache...Ernie Els,ever the gentleman, was infuriated by his "quit" and reported he had eaten a sandwich on the 7th hole.
    Rors stood by the lie.

Introduced by Gmac to to Horizon Management he said he would take the year off including the Masters to extract a settlement which would have ruined the company ,co owned by McDowell,..he settled out of court for less than 10% of what he claimed he was owed...lets just say he and CMac aren't great buddies any more.

He also smashed a club at The Open and blamed the fact it had been glued together on the Monday..Nike was outraged..another apology from the brat.

He also said he had no responsibility to grow the game in his little hissy fit press conference..unreal,from a guy who is an ambassador for golf and beyond...NIKE and his other sponsors made him quickly retract within 24 hours.

    Refreshingly honest?...

The Golden Bear, ever the diplomat, said he's still a young man who will realise his reponsilbily to golf.

He's not a young man..just behaves ten years younger than his age.

Refreshingly honest guy?...Jack always has been.

Dexter, like the BBC and Sky, you're giving him far too much coverage, albeit your comments are well founded.
The coverage on Sky last night was pathetic- unless you wanted to watch McIlroy's group to the exclusion of all others.
I find it ironically hilarious and pathetic that stupid, bigoted Critchley, idiotic girl's blouse Montgomery, and turncoat Harman are the three commentators who are besotted with McIlroy. The latter's exit means we'll see a bit more of the other players tonight, thank God!

McIlroy has talked so much bollocks these past few weeks it really does make him look a real penis.

Less talk, less arrogance please young man.
