He's lucky he has you to dissect his thought processes READ ALL ABOUT IT!!! Person under constant scrutiny doesn't say what people want to hear! Imagine a human being saying things they didn't mean
I see now why McIlroy's been pish on the greens all season, clearly hasn't been logging into Not606 for advise. Deary me Anyway, on to the players that matter and obviously Day looks the one to beat now. He was my confident selection last year in this and I think he'll close them down tonight with his red hot putting. Hopefully Reed can keep amongst it and stay in the top 5 but it's a loaded leaderboard. Scott, Spieth at -3 cannot be dismissed totally. A host of others could make a charge so I can see Walker, and maybe even Grillo having their turn for a bad round today. As has been said Stenson has been machine like in his play following on from the Open but I don't see him winning back to back Majors.
Yeah indeed but least Reed at 125/1 looking reasonably placed anyway. Hows the Sportinglife tips you put up as your own going?
Grillo out with Jason Day and I'm not sure how that will affect him. My initial reaction was it was a negative for him but now I'm warming to it and think it will focus him even more to produce good golf. 36 more holes to go and plenty who could emerge from the pack yet. Day and Spieth looking ominously dangerous though. I'd be glad of a place for Grillo. Just noticed an error on my part also, In my selection write up I have Grillo at 150/1 but it was actually 125/1 I backed him at.
Why is Stenson called the Ice man when he's a nutcase can't count the amount of clubs he used to break on course in his early days. He has chilled somewhat though to be fair, they're all a bit stroppy in the first couple of seasons. Funny guy.
Just to point out that Paddy Power are still going top 5 at this stage (1/5th the odds) on each way bets, which is very fair halfway through the tournament. That'll change to top 4 quite early on in the third so if you fancy a decent priced one now worth considering. Not that long ago the books only paid out on top 4 on each way punts from the start!
what's the alert about I put my selections up Wednesday and I said I got 125 not 150's which is worst Think your getting mixed up somewhere. Post #39
Whether it's 125s or 150s it's not a bad bet as it stands. My outsider Andy Sullivan clambered up the leader board at -5 and then must have got dizzy and proceeded to have 6 bogeys in 9 holes and be on the cusp of the cut. Fair play to him though, he finished birdie, eagle to be -2 so place claims.
Sorry STH, was a very mediocre attempt at sarcasm on my part! As you've said its not likely anyone would wish to aftertime by telling everyone they didn't have the price they said they did
Lots of talk about a Tuesday finish in the golf lads! Crazy rain and storms due to continue into tomorrow!
It's become a turkey shoot, there's so much rain the players can just go straight at the flag knowing the ball will stop dead. These bunkers are pathetic, landing in them is a better lye than the grass or short rough surrounding them ! If you land in a bunker it should cost you a shot or two, there meant to hazards not a helping hand ffs. There's no wind at all,and it becomes boring in my view seeing player after player hitting the ball stone dead. It's a major ffs,I want to see the best players on the planet being tested. It's gonna be a close finish at least,Walker still clinging on to his narrow lead. Just hope Grace can nick a place for me !
Looking at the scoring Jimmy Walker is holding himself together remarkably well. Last round in a major is another matter mind you, and having to play 36 holes on a Sunday (or trying to weather dependent) might just make it even tougher than normal. Haven't a strong view on who'll come through but Day looks the obvious one. His putting is gravy.
Wow!...prickly. McIlroy said to a Times reporter, after my post, that .."I need to go back to the drawing board and see where we go from there.." Exactly what my contention was from the extract you chose to highlight. I see from the last two sentences of your rant that you agree in essence with my assessment. Good.
Fair play to Walker,a worthy champion. He holed out brilliantly, had some huge breaks at various times but I guess that's what you need to win a major. Credit to Day for pushing him all the way,and a mention to Grace and Matsuyama who could have been even closer if they had putted better ! Overall happy with my profit on Grace e.w., but I can't wait for the next time the Open gets to Carnoustie,a proper course where if you play errant shots, you will be punished !
Rode his luck and doubt he'll win another but bogey free under pressure...fabulous play. Well done Jimmy Walker...deserved and popular winner. Their RC side looking good unfortunately.
