??? But we do look to win every game. We did last season and we will do it this season. Looking to win every game is a different thing to expecting to win every game. You seem to want to jump on every comment possible for no reason.
that was my bad actually, misread what you said as expecting, rather than looking - sorry about that **embarrased smile**
Oh hush the pair of you ! Every team aspires to do the best they can everygame, thats all that matters. The teams need the fans to believe in them, not put pressure on them in order to succeed.
Last season, Saints played better against teams that wanted to play. We'll have to see how that works out in the Championship. Not that I'm criticizing teams that do that, because you have to play to your strengths and there may be games this season where we have to start cautiously.
Generally, this Leeds team love the big fixtures. We were the only side that did the double over QPR last season and usually when the cameras are there along with a big crowd, we tend to up our game. Last season was the first time in 20-odd years that we lost an opening League game, so that's something we'll be burning to avoid repeating.
We usually lose our first game and we also used to lose on Sky, but under our new management team (Nicola and Nigel) we seem to be breaking hoodoos. We are a different team now.
I think with a play-off system and it being the very, very competitive league, it's the case for many teams.
pretty well matched teams but leeds have the championship experience. saints fans may feel the team can come out and attack us like we thought on the opening day against derby last year. but the champ. is a tough league and it takes time to adapt id say close game, leeds to nick it 2-1 or a 2-2 draw
I'm loving the way Leeds fans seem to be belittleing League 1, who got out of there the quickest? Leeds do have the Championship experiance but other factors matter too... Who will be who is up for it the most (team and individuals), Home ground and crowd, who does the ref hate the least Im not sure who will win, Im a saints fan so I want/expect Saints to win, and I'd expect Leeds fans to be the same about Leeds
Have you considered that our long stay there might be the reason why we know how **** it is and hate it so much?
Strewth who amongst you is not going to vote for your own team? Saints are at home we expect to win all our home games. Who amongst you would disagree that there own team would win at home? As I said before Leeds have an edge simply because they have that season under their belt and it was valuable experience. If you underestimate us though, you will do so at your peril. That applies to any team that comes here. It is an interesting point though both teams tend to be slow starters in the last few seasons. So would agree a draw is the most likely............
You go on about our players not being used to this level of Football,I disagree:Kelvin Davis-Prem/Championship;Harding-Championship;Fonte-Championship/Superliga;Jaidi-Prem/Championship;Butters-Championship;Cork-Prem/Championship;Chaplow-Prem/Championship;Schneiderlin-Championship;Lallana-Championship;Barnard-Prem/Championship
Yes individuals have experience of this and higher leagues in some cases...But as a team we've played 2 seasons L1, so that is what we're used to, like or not. Roll on Saturday...time to step it up.
I think that there are only about 6 teams who it would really surprise me if they were in the play offs at the end of the season Everyone else has a decent chance imo, all about momentum in this league
Snodgrass and Gradel will make a laughing stock of your fullbacks while Howson makes mugs of your centre backs and centre midfield. If you think one centre back signing is going to be enough to keep our attack out you seriously haven't seen enough of our attack. I'll warn you, Howson has a habit of steaming down the middle as if there's nothing there. The man is unstoppable at times.
The same Leeds that left two men up front whilst defending corners from arsenal? Clearly no knowledge of our playstyle at all.
