Cocky and arrogant? How? We all think you have a chance of the play-offs. Thinking our experienced Championship team should win against a newly promoted side is simply a standard expectation, you're not favourites in this division for a reason. If you're looking for cocky I can direct you to the Leicester "we've spent lots of money therefore we will win every game" City fans.
Brown hasn't played a professional match since December. That's a long time for anyone, let alone someon in their mid 30s. There's every chance that it will take him a little while to get back up to speed - although I guess the booing that he'll receive from us might well spur him on.
We also have experienced championship players - Butterfield, Fonte, Connolly, Cork, Davis and Jaidi. Also Lallana and Harding to a lesser extent. We aren't favourites because Leicester have bought in a lot of quality and West Ham have premier league players in their side already.
im not on about you as a person, I'm on about the general views that I am feeling from you lot, i agree about Leicester, West Ham are a cocky lot and I think Leeds fans are as well, you won't get play offs this year no matter how much you think
Others as well. Morgan and Holmes were both with us when we were last here. Richardson has played in both the Premiership and Championship for our dear opponents. Chaplow has played here for us, Preston and Burnley. Hammond was here with Brighton.
There are more teams above you in the pecking order than that. Well if we can't make the play-offs then you don't stand a chance. You've got to accept you're now in a league where every single team would have done as well as you did last season. If you think you're just going to walk into the league and win every game because you did last year you're deluded aswell as cocky and arrogant.
I don't agree with this at all, imo the worst opening game fixture for any team in any division is away at a newly promoted side. We are used to winning games, have a winning mentality and will be up for it in front of a big crowd. You say that the occasion may get to us, but you seem to be forgetting that we were HUGE favourites with th bookies to get promoted last year and that didn't bother us. We had to win virtually every game in our last 5 games last year to get promotion, and we did. Yes this was in a lower league, but it shows something about the mentality of the players that they seem thrive under pressure/expectation. I personally think this could be a close game, but I think that we will edge it 2-1
no i dont think we are going to walk into the league and win every game, im a pessimist and I would be happy with just surviving for this year
When it comes to us, don't believe what you see or hear - especially if it came from the Daily Echo. Adkins and Cortese like to keep things very close to their chest. He might be out for a month, he might be 100% fit and start on Saturday.
Yeah I think we did that just as a precaution - to make sure there was no further damage before the scan was results were known. Adkins keeps his cards close to his chest regarding injuries so we are unlikely to know untill the team sheet is revealed.
We thought the same last year and were given a lesson by Derby of all people. I think the expectation etc. can work against you when suddenly the opposition is so muc stronger than what you faced last season. We just weren't prepared.
Leeds fans are anything but arrogant and cocky at the moment. There's a lot of ill-feeling towards the club's ownership and management from many fans and generally the mood about next season is pessimistic from the people I've spoken to and other discussion sites I've browsed. We're Leeds United, Champions of Europe and Kings of the North, of course we have a divine right to be in the top tier with our real competitors, but nobody thinks we're guaranteed an easy ride this season with the financial constraints Grayson is forced to operate under.
