I can't see Leeds keeping a clean sheet. We have players who can unlock the stingiest of defences and I can't see Leeds piling men behind the ball.

I think Adkins has built a squad mentality that can cope under pressure though, this team basically HAD to win our last 6 or so games, and we won them all quite emphatically, so I wouldn't worry about us being under pressure too much. To be honest, we seem to perform best against higher quality sides, like our performance against Man Utd last season!

In response to the argument about how well Southampton do at home, United have a similarly good record away from home; we got 31 points on our travels last season probably due to having the largest away following in the country backing us at every game. I stick by my prediction of 2-2 or perhaps some other high-scoring draw because it's plain that both teams have excellent front lines, and even if United and Southampton's defences have improved over the summer somewhat, the likes of Lallana, Chamberlain, Gradel and Howson are a challenge for the very best of Championship defenders. One thing I will say is underestimate Paddy Kisnorbo at your peril. He might be injury-prone, but he's like a man possessed when he pulls on that white shirt.

Edit: or black and fluorescent yellow striped shirt, in Saturday's instance. Don't judge us.

One thing for sure is that it will be a cracking game, and I expect goals as both teams love to attack. I'm going for a 2-2 draw, we have a terrible opening day record but the team is very, very confident and we look very sharp and fit going into the new season. Leeds have some great attacking players at this level but their defence looks a bit suspect although having Kisnorbo back is a massive boost for them. If we can counter attack well then we have a good chance of the 3 points and I think the players will relish the atmosphere and the occasion. Hopefully we will also have a new centre back on board by then which will be a welcome addition particularly for the game on Sat.

Having Kisnorbo back is like this new CB you lot are going on about. I really can't describe how important he is to our defence. Peter Beagrie said last season that we would have made the play-offs at least had Kissa been fit, and I agree with him.

What's with Kisnorbo's headgear, does he wear that every match?

Not any more, he picked up an injury at the beginning of our promotion season and wore it religiously even when he didn't need it, but he's stopped now as you can see in the above pic.

I've seen it, looks like most people wanted our away kit to be! We've already got this one though:

We kept finding opposition parking the bus against us in League 1 and everyone hopes that the games will be more open in the Championship. Can Leeds fans tell us generally what did you find last year?

Certainly fewer teams parked the bus. Teams like us, West Ham, Leicester, Cardiff etc. will definitely be looking to win every game. We're in a bit of an odd position though as because of our reputation last season of scoring loads and conceding loads we had lots of teams sitting back looking to counter-attack.

Very few teams look to scrape a win by the odd goal in the Championship. It's probably the second or third most exciting division in European football because of the attacking focus and high-tempo passing play. A refreshing change from the hoofers and hackers of League One.
