I'm fairly sure that was Sams last game managing us, last night. He should have waited an extra 15 minutes to say his goodbye to the fans. Not the way I thought this would have ended, but yeah, still a bitter taste in my mouth.
There was little point in saving us from a relegation battle to simply leave us in another. Hero to zero, in my eyes, I'm afraid. Please, save me the cringing 'loved my time at Sunderland, great club, great supporters, blan blah blah'. Just **** off and watch your dream job turn into the inevitable nightmare.
Quite ironic isn't it that he legged it last night before the match end.. Sums football up for me in this pocket ladened world.. If I was ever on the frontline fighting for my Country and next to me was a football manager, I'd shoot him before the enemy did to make sure I had a chance to survive.. A world full of plastic, incompetent people who bar a few have never kicked a ball, been successful in football in their lives.. And us ****ers pay for their self-esteemed stardom now in a Country that worships reality stars in the medias eyes..
Allardyce will be managing just the kind of wasters he couldn't wait to get out of Sunderland. Under achieving clowns like Fletcher who openly disrespect the supporters and believe they're 10 times as good as they are. ............ BTW, one of the gardeners has started converting a trailer into a throne that can be towed behind one of the tractors so you have a tour of the grounds, go right round the lake and feed the fish, the ducks and the geese ..... hopefully the weather will be good and the Sheikh will be here, he's a right laugh.
Will I be able to get a wheelchair on there mate? I mean an electric wheelchair that's quite big? It was specially made for Lollie last year as her body posture is quite abysmal now.. All I can say is she is so excited, it will be a massive step for her this but she's adamant. Ella will be the Ella you remember, only 4 inches taller and a bit more calm..
You'd be amazed at what we've accomplished mate so that's nowt ..... 2 of us collected a grand piano the other day so Lollie will be a piece of cake
This is a golden opportunity ....... we have the FA by the bollix and can squeeze them until they squeal. Appoint Bracewell as caretaker and go with the squad we have which is easily good enough to stay up. If the FA don't bite then Allardyce can be told the club allowed him to be interviewed but the offer was totally insulting. If this is really Allardyce's 'dream job' he can pay the balance can't he
It is a shame that some of you on here have picked on small things to criticise Sam for and choose not to see the bigger picture. After all the only thing he did was save us from relegation like those before him and was well paid for it - that's football nowadays. The guy took over a club that was heading for crisis and steadied that until he could make some signings, you remember the ones a useless fellahs called Kaboul and a injury prone German who nobody wanted. Then he lost two midfield quality players in Lens and Johnson for reasons known only to them. A loss in form and confidence by another and so on.We were within seconds of creditable wins away from home until we played and fought our way out of relegation. Had the England job not been dropped into his lap then he would still happily be here, but for me hearing the phrase "the former Sunderland manager has been appointed England's saviour" has a nice ring to it.
Given that nothing happened today, not even a bloody wedding anniversary, hard to argue with a word of that!
People can see all kinds of pictures, your particular version doesn't mean it's the biggest one. Everyone knows he saved us from relegation, we also know this current charade is probably putting us into another poor start to a season and the inevitable fight that goes with it. If we're subsequently relegated, because of all this disruption, where will your big picture be then ... .... not hanging on my wall that's for sure. And as for 'a nice ring to it'. Sorry but that's laughable.
Yeh I have mixed feelings He saved use from relegation steadied the ship and brought in some good players. He was well liked and stood well as our manager. However I get the feeling SAFC was just a stepping stone waiting for the England job. Maybe as has been said Sam had a clause in his contract to let him go if England came calling. Strange if true. Never mind when we appointed him we were in desperate need of help and he decided to join us and infact save us. Still not sure how to feel but what I do know is we need stability as soon as possible. Just one more point if there was a clause in his contract that he could leave for the England job.that may reduce our compensation.us knowing he was going anyway. So in that case when it started to drag on we should of bit the bullit and sacked him. Then appointed a new manager two weeks ago. We would now be a little more settled and looking forward to the new season. Just thinking like
A release clause in his contract would likely mean we'd get no compensation whatsoever. Either that or it would be set terms. The fact that we're in negotiations points to there being no clause whatsoever.
Will never forget keeping is up and relegating the mags at the same time. Gl Sam with the England job
