Sod the weekend! I want the club to show how pro-active and efficient they've been and to present Moyes to the press today.

Not likely to happen though is it. :(

Not considering the FA still have to **** about and officially offer Sam the job - then agree the compensation package with us etc. etc. MOyes will probably join on the 30th August!!

Who knows, i would like to think that there would be some form of communication between Sam and the new manager.
Read somewhere that Sam actually put Moyes name forward.

If you get Moyes, they'll probably be sacked before he even turns up for training and he'll replace them with jonnies filled with dead pigeons and dog ****.

Moyes is a bloody good manager and he'll be a good fit for Sunderland imo.

He did a cracking job at Goodison over his 11 year tenure, and given the time he'd have got it right at OT imo, but it was always a poison chalice that job, and there was only 1 man who could have taken over the mantle from SAF, and he's ended up in the chair 3 years later...

Moyes is tactically astute, has a great eye for a player and always takes his time ensuring that his signings have the right character for the group. He can be a bit frustrating in that regard though, and earned the nickname dithering Davie amongst Blues, but his record in the market is phenomenal. His net spend at Goodison was £11m in 11 years ffs!

He'll always build a side from the back and you won't see much expansive football from him, until he's made you defensively solid as a team, then he'll slowly but surely start adding some flair to the steel.

Give him time, and he'll deliver.

Yeah, the average tenure of a PL manager is about 20 months now (excluding Wenger)

You can't build a side in that time without spending hundreds of £m, and even then there's no guarantees.

Kenwright ignored the daft calls for a change when we had the odd sticky patch under Moyes, and he was always proved right in the end, as Moyes repaid his faith in him.

We were an established top 6 side for years under Moyes and then that Catalan cock took over and turned us into Wigan.

Sunderland fans are on the brink of Europe.

He broke the old Sky 4 monopoly on the CL places in '04, having had to sell Rooney and with Marcus Bent as our main striker ffs <laugh>

How does he like his strikers?

    We only really have Defoe.

His preferred style is to play with a lone striker and someone playing in behind him.

He likes his striker to cover a lot of ground and be able to hold the ball up well. He has played with a small striker before - Andy Johnson - as he liked his pace in behind. So Defoe will get his chance. I'd expect him to bring in an ale house No.9 as well like, as he' loves a plan B, launch it at the big fella alternative. Big Fellaini on loan????

Not too happy with this if true - feel we'll have more boring organised football - not necessarily winning either - Everton were often struggling and they were in a better place to attract players - Gus Poyet failed because the top players would'nt come
    Hope
Problem is timing BSA was seen as a manager to sort us out and provide football nous - well accomplished and was taking us upwards -his short time has left a legacy and a feel good positive club.
Moyes went to Man Utd who needed continuity after Fergie's legacy - he failed to get the club & fans backing. I just feel it's not the right time to come here as assessment of players etc takes time and he does not strike me as a winner - Everton under performed with the quality of players he had . We are the constant sleeping giant and I don't see him waking us up - continuous struggle and disruption as normal - not happy but hope I'm wrong as many on here were about BSA appt <cheers>
