Looks like Robson-Kanu on a 4-year deal is close to being done. Bruce also considering a move for Chester.
Let's just pretend Robson-Kanu is good enough for a moment. We'll probably end up having to pay way over the odds in wages and fees now, because of a couple of half decent performances in the Euros. If we really wanted him, we could have had him much cheaper a couple of months ago. Probably.
Don't think anyone's mentioned it. But seen on Twitter that we're being linked to Georginio Wijnaldam (however it's spelt) from the mags. Would be an outstanding buy, but can't see that we could afford him. Would cost probably upwards of £20m and with a rumoured budget of £18m and needed to prioritise other areas surely can't be much mileage in that?
He started brightly enough for the Mags but when everyone else went missing so did he. If you want scrappers for a season long relegation battle he ain't your man. Anyway, more fashionable teams than us are in for him. Can't see it happening.
Bruce saying that a 'most exciting' opportunity has arisen 'in the last half hour' quite obviously isn't Robson Kanu.
I can only imagine with the odd slash it could be Wijnaldum on loan - he's a flashy exciting player so that could fit the bill. Not sure who else it is unless it's someone entirely left field we haven't even considered.
