Mendy does seem to have got lost somewhere over the English Channel, I blame Brexit myself! I'll be obviously upset if Kanté goes, but also thankful that I've seen a genuinely world class player at Leicester City (I actually think he's the best in the world at what he does) and would prefer it if he went abroad, as I don't think I could bear to see him in a Chelsea or Arsenal shirt, partly because he's too good for either of them.

I've heard Southampton are in for him now, probably just lazy journalism because of Puel going there.

Explains why PSG aren't in for him any more - also explains why Chelsea and Real are linked as he has professed admiration for Conte and Zidane.

Chinese side Shanghai SIPG, who are managed by former England boss Sven Goran Eriksson, will bid £35m for Leicester's 25-year-old French midfielder N'Golo Kante. (Daily Mirror)

Could we manipulate this - get Oadby Town to big £50M as a "publicity stunt" then as other teams have to bid at least that?

At the end of the day if Kante's head get turned we will have to sell him

As proven with the Vardy to Arsenal saga the owners, Ranieri and the players will do everything they can to keep him here and happy

A quote from Claudio at today's training in Austria ..

“I am very pleased and I hope to maintain all the players with the new players I think we have a very good group who will fight until the end.”

... give this far more credence than a London biased press <laugh>

IF the rumours are true about Sven's £35M bid for Kante then Kante's release clause is now set at £35M and not £20M anymore.

Chelsea apparently wont match that but the worry would be Juventus. If they sell Paul Pogba for £100M to Man U then they can easily afford the £35M for Kante

Obviously Kante could be convinced to sign for Sven which would pocket us alot of money so the club cant lose in that sense. The club might be prepared to set Kante another release clause for a years time based on certain scenarios should he sign a new deal. But either way Sven has done us a massive favour

    According to John Percy

Kante has rejected our offer of £100K a week and the club are going to make him another offer

If anyone leaves you wont be able to fault the club as proven with Vardy. There not letting anyone leave without a fight

I can't understand Kante or Mahrez wanting to go anywhere this year to be honest. They're playing CL football next year no matter what. They are young enough that if they have belief in their own abilities they know that another good year and they will have best clubs after them and if Leicester finish mid table for example then probably be allowed to leave.

Our of the 3, Vardy was the one that could see going although I think not going to Arsenal is better for him personally. He's 29 so probably will never get another chance to play for another big club who could constantly challenge for trophies.

Leicester made Kante the player he is and he owes it to give it another year to help try and make a regular fixture in the European places in Prem.

You've got the same thoughts as me, I've said myself if he wants to leave it says to me he doesn't have faith in his abilities to have another good year as it shows desperation to take a move whilst it's available rather than have faith a better option will be available next year after another good year with us

If a player like Kante, who has virtually come from nowhere to where he is now with us over one season, rejects £100k per week, then the issue is not money and I would be surprised if making him a higher offer will have any effect. I hope I'm wrong, but it sounds to me like he wants a move to a more established club.

It might be down to his agent, but the player has the final say, and personally I'd lose all respect for him if he thinks so little of what the owners, backroom staff and his team mates have done to help him over the last 12 months and can't commit to one more season, which will be the biggest this club has ever known.

I sincerely hope this comes down to terms and conditions ... goes without saying that he should be one of the club's top earners on the back of his exploits last season ... if we make him a mega deal offer and he still wants to go then fair play ... but it will now be for £35m plus and not the £20m release ..

Everything currently being reported says "we understand that " "has apparently" etc etc. So basically no actual facts. We don't have any idea what he actually wants to do.

I can't understand why Chelsea would be even a consideration when they are not in the Champions League & he will be if he stays with us. If he doesn't want to stay I'd rather he went abroad but it's still all speculation & media rumour mongering at present.
Ideally yes, I'd like him to stay at least another year but as stated many times we only want players who want to play for us.
