I don't see Hernandez as being particularly quick but he holds up play fairly well and gets in decent positions and can finish. A better foil for him would have been a Long type player that runs in behind the opposition defence (Gray would have been ideal). I would never put a Robson-Kanu/Fletcher type player on the same pitch as Hernandez as it would make the pairing the easiest to mark in the league. We need a player with genuine pace that would cause the opposition defence to sit deeper and give Hernadez/Diame the space to play in in front of their defence.
I would like to see somebody like Jay Rodriguez from Southampton. Probably will be a bit part player for them next season after his injury and i think a loan with a view to a permanent deal in the region of 10m would do the trick should he perform for us. Just a thought.
I suggested him on a Facebook post ages back, also threw up Ulloa and Gayle, and was laughed out by a number of people for suggesting a club our size would get close to any of the three. Meanwhile Gayle has signed for Newcastle.
I think he is the type of player we could do with and just think if we don't try and be ambitious then we will be in for a hell of a scrap. I think all three of the players you mentioned would be good but i do think Ulloa would take a lot of convincing to leave the champions to come to a newly promoted side.
I'd take Rodriguez, the forgotten man these days, or Ings. It's hard to admit but Burnley have had some decent players over the last few years up front while we've had....
No idea about Aluko, but apparently Fulham have signed a "Top Hull Striker", so I'm guessing either Abel or Chris Chilton. http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/fulham-capture-top-hull-striker-11589395
