Hard to imagine, they haven't got a new manager yet. If anything this'll be a story to get their fans excited after Montella jumped to Milan.
Surely this Robson-Kanu rumour is bollocks. Why do some stories hang around for so long? Its got me worried we're actually in for him..
Two. The one against Portugal is the second Cruyff turn he did, but it was outside the area and did not lead to a goal. Thanks for your all-knowing correction attempt though.
Considering we were talking about his goals perhaps you should have been more specific than just trying to correct someone with the word two.
Why? He's looked OK. We need two strikers as a minimum if we signed him and spent more on an Abel type value signing - I'd be happy with that.
Depends what he's likely to be used for - if he's a cheap squad player getting on the pitch 1 game in 3 then I've got no issue. If we're selling Abel and he's going to be leading our line then it's a completely different can of worms.
Yes, I agree - more as a squad player was the idea. I think he'd be effective in a 4-4-2. He covers as much ground as Vardy and Long- which is good when you're trying to win the ball back further up the pitch.
I personally wouldn't want Mason. His attitude in the game against Chelsea when they went a goal down to lose the chance of winning the league, was to say the least outrageous and should we be scrapping at the bottom of the league for survival, the last thing we need is a central midfielder losing his head and getting sent off. We need professionals who are going to fight for the cause, not petulant kids who throw their dummies out when things don't go their way.
Why is it we spend every season complaining about the quality and effectiveness of our strikers and every transfer window people fail to target it as our highest priority? We need at least 4 (possibly 5) strikers who can make an impact at this level and if some of them get pissed off sitting on the bench....Tough.
Striker wise, now he's settled and can hit the ground running, the most important signing should be an extended contract for Abel? If he's not willing to do that 9or we fail to offer one) then I fear we will have to sell now or lose him for nothing in 12 months time. Should that happen with little more than 4 weeks to the season start, then up top we are f**cked!
To put Dio's previous club into perspective, and the standard of football, I noted that the part timers of Connahs Quay from the Welsh League knocked Stabak out the Europa League this week!
I've been a little underwhelmed with most of the players we've been linked with. When you see Middlesbrough signing Valdes and apparently being interested in Van Persie, Bournemouth signing Ibe, Crystal Palace bidding nearly thirty million for Benteke whilst we're seriously interested in Robson-Kanu...not great! I'd be fairly happy with Mason though.
