Van Aanholt and Santon is more than enough cover for left back. Weve got the young lad Robson for cover aswell who looks a top prospect.
Its the Right side im worried about. Even if Yedlin returns i have no faith in Jones as cover.

He's a right back that Pardew played at left back iirc.

He's played both. I'm sure Newcastle played him LB, to be fair.

That's our first choice defence sorted for next season, I reckon. SA said he would be filling the first team positions before bringing in a few squad players to beef up the squad. Next two will be Sakho and our new attacking midfielder, whoever that may be.

Wiki says he plays both sides which is a massive bonus. I paid no attention when he played for them lot to be honest. I just vaguely remember him on the left in one of our games against him.

Santon is a RB, Pardew played him LB. he has Italy caps at RB and I've no doubt that's where he will play.

I think this is a smashin signing, I really do. The money is peanuts as well.

Happy with this if it goes through. Good age; Versatile . A big up from Jose Mourinho - Predestined player. Add Big Sam's defensive coaching and he could turn out to be a quality buy..

On a personal note, this will drum up a load of interest in the Club around where I live, as it's the area where Santon comes from, and lots of the locals know him or at least his family.

Some years back Santon got tickets for a mate of mine here and his lass for one of the derbies (the Bendtner penalty Sid James one). I helped my mate with flights and train tickets from London (his lass wanted to go to London too). The night before the game, my mate sent me a video clip of him & Santon having a meal and Santon shouting at me personally "Newcastle domani" (Newcastle tomorrow). My bairn suggested texting FTM to my mate to show to Santon, which I did!
