I really didn't. If anything OLM has done that. My first post on the subject was literally saying we shouldn't sign him because he's past his best.
OLM said we'd be 'ecstatic' if someone scored that many goals for us over the next 18 months. You said 'are you suggesting Berbatov would score that many for us?' No. No he wasn't.
We were discussing Berbatov, I said we shouldn't sign him because he wasn't good for Fulham in his last season for them. If we were discussing Aaron Mooy, and I said, 'We would be ecstatic if someone got 21 assists for us in a season' would you interpret that as me suggesting Mooy would get 21 assist for us? It comes back to the stupid notion suggested of "I wasn't suggesting we sign Berbatov, I just thought I'd post a shortlist of players we could afford for no real reason". I could list every player in the A-League. We could afford them. If I'm not posting the list for any reason other than to point out we could afford them, that's hardly groundbreaking is it?
Anyway. Enough of this. I posted this: And OLM agreed. And yet somehow I was arguing. We're all agreed. He's not someone worth looking at.
Then you're a strange one. As that's the only reason I would quote that statistic. Otherwise it's irrelevant when discussing the player.
Surely Bruce should be signing strikers not more midfielders? We only have 1 decent striker at the club. We need 3 more & Bruce's record with signing strikers is hardly impressive.
No, you see I realise football doesn't work like that. What a player does at one club he's not guaranteed to do at another club.
.. Exactly. I think that was my point. Which is why I questioned the relevance of olm using the stat. We're all agreed berbatov would be **** so why is this still going?
Perhaps he is actually looking at some but has just not had the decency to tell you? Maybe negotiations are ongoing, but both parties are keeping it quiet until real progress is made and a deal is close. Just a thought.
