I rarely look on here now, because almost every thread is identical tbh, so I didn't realise Diddles had stopped posting. All I can say is that he's a very intelligent man with a great life & family. I've met him a few times and he has a massive range of interests and knowledge.
Will do mate. TBH, he's on a different level to me and some of the other lads but has tried to fit in ........ he'll be a big miss for you lads if he's gone for good.
Yeah, I took him some books, from the old owner's library, and he was really grateful .......... a proper bloke and a real family man which I admire.
Not even sure what the law is on that one, mate. Without question you can though, nobody gives a ****e over there whether you are smoking a tab or joint, to be perfectly honest! As long as you aren't walking through the shopping streets smoking dope, nobody will give a toss. I was sitting next to the river, down by Arnhem bridge, I was skinning up a joint and 2 cops came past on their bikes. They stopped and talked to me, I was telling them how I'd always wanted to visit the town because of the battles during the war and whatever, when I had finished rambling they wished me a good holiday and continued on. It's about how you act with it, they'll allow you to do pretty much whatever you want over there, but take the piss and they will come down hard on you. If I had of been smoking it in an area where lots of people were, or acting daft with it, then I would have been having a totally different conversation and looking at a fine/bribe.
Point being that the kind of superhero mod that you think is the only worthwhile one, who has unlimited free time and is on any transgression like a shot, doesn't exist and doesn't have to either.
It's only vague memories now as it was a year ago and by the end of the meal I was bladdered somehow, nearly fell flat on my face as we were leaving. I remember seeing the name of the type of wine on the menu and asking the waiter what it was and him telling me that they take a huge barrel to the mainland to fill it up with wine and bring it back to the restaurant. It's been bugging me for a year now, one of those rare times that Google hasn't got the answer.
Sweet, going to have a look at Hollands canal network. Sounds like the place for my boat holiday. Spring when the dafs and tulips are flowering.
It was national tulip day over there, when me and Sammie went over in January. They had a big display on at Dam square and a couple of other places. It looked amazing The Dutch canal network spreads right around the country, mate. You can literally go anywhere in the country on it. Same with bicycles, they have bike routes which spread all over the country. If you wanted to stay out there for a while, you can get around quite a bit of Europe on the inland waterways, straight through Belgium and I think you can get to France and Spain, among others. It's something I've never really thought of doing, but it's a great idea. Go for it
Just ran it past my lady and she's buzzing at the concept. Views of colour. Wonder what the boarders are like on the canals. Will I be able to get somke out no problem? Just checked Europe's waterways. It's vast. please log in to view this image It combines every we've been looking for from a a holiday. Can't believe I didn't think of it earlier. please log in to view this image
