You need to remember that the free movement for Romanians was not allowed until Jan 2014, so any figure before that is fairly meaningless and nobody knows how many are here because there is no way to record it.
I very much doubt it. With the minimum wage at a rate more than twice as high as your own country, with a raft of in work benefits available and even benefits whilst you look for a job, there are massive incentives to jump on the bus to London.

Ironically benefits are generally higher in a number of European countries. And we have all seen the evidence that migrant workers in are a net gain to the economy.
The argument therefore that people jump on the bus as you put it to come to the UK for benefits is a non sequitur.... or as I dare to say sometimes to Mme Yorkie ... Faulty thinking.... Sadly people like Farage have managed to convince many millions that what is not true is true .
That is not to say that we have problems in our infrastructure resulting from overload.... but that is as much due to Govt spending limits as anything else.
Having said all of that I am not against some practical limitations on immigration. We may end up with a situation whereby agencies out of the UK link EU workers to jobs etc.
If we wish to have free trade a way has to be found that satisfies the principles of all....
You know full well that I am not saying all Romanians are lawbreakers but there is an issue with organised gangs. It is like stating the obvious that there are UK crooks living on the Costa Del Sol. There are problems and the respective governments should be allowed to deport those not wanted.
They are able to deport, under the European Arrest Warrent - Britain has deported 6,900 EU. nationals since 2010. Why do you insist on ignoring facts which you do not like simply because it is convenient for your argument ?
You still do not understand the quest for sovereignty. It should be for the UK, and other individual European nations if they so wish, to decide on the exact terms in which a foreign national can be deported. We do not want that decided in a European court.
You are ignoring the facts - you said that we should be able to deport, well we are in that position already. There is no country in the World which is completely sovereign, apart from North Korea, because every deal done with any other country limits sovereignty in some way.
No, I said we should be able to deport on our terms. At the moment there are cases where the UK is prevented from deporting EU undesirables due to European law.

NZ said he believed that the rate at which immigration into the UK from the EU would fall, my points were reasons why I do not believe it will fall. I am sure some countries may have better benefits, but many do not - particularly the countries they are coming from. Many EU countries do not provide any benefits whilst someone is looking for work, but someone arriving here can claim job-seekers allowance as soon as they arrive. Many EU countries do not provide any in-work benefits - so you receive what you earn. They are on our terms you ignoramus. There have been 50 such cases, and 6,900 people who have been deported. Without the EU. people who have been deported can be sent back to Britain under the claim that they committed their crime there and therefore should be punished there. If I as a Brit. go to America and commit a crime there then I end up in an American jail, it is as simple as that.
Got any direct debits or standing orders SH? If so you have handed over part of your personal sovereignty to the bank. There is an agreement between the two of you that works providing both sides keep to the bargain.

The same is true in Germany Frenchie, you cannot claim here until you have paid into the system. If Britain has been doing it any other way then it is their problem and has nothing to do with the EU.
Debate like a grown up. Currently the final say on deportation is not with the UK government. This will be addressed once we leave the EU. We will also have a British Bill of Rights to replace the HRA. We do not want to be controlled under the ECHC.
Hopefully the damage that Corbyn is doing to the Labour Party will lead to an eventual much larger Tory majority to cut these and other layers of bureaucracy.

In relation to non-EU are you talking about those for whom the UK grants asylum or similar status?
