Following an eight-day hearing at the high court, Rupert Lowe was awarded £250,000 for a claim in a column by Martin Samuel that he behaved "shabbily" in suspending former manager Dave Jones over child abuse allegations. Its one of the biggest football club story libel settlements of recent years & it got jabba in a lot of trouble. Since that payout he has searched for any opportunity to have a dig, but without crossing the liable line. The guy is a proper coward, and a bit of a scumbag, I wouldn't pay any attention to his article, but if anyone feels the need to send abuse on twitter......I'll not stop you!
He also had a go (with justification) when we sacked Nigel. He is a man with a chip on his shoulder who is waiting for us to fall....he keeps hoping and we keep rising.
Blimey guys its a little rich saying that you can't warm to a manager before he has had the lads kick a bloody ball surely. Also what is all the previous talk of O'neil? Has he resigned from the Irish squad or something? Which ever manager chooses to join us, Puel or whoever has to have a chance to make his mark. If he doesn't as others have said he will be off. I don't think Les tends to muck about although I just hope he gets a decent chance is all I ask. I just wish he would get a bloody move on though........
I think I might just prepare myself to blank out anything you say. It'll be easier than trying reason. Two words: Alex Ferguson
If that happens then maybe we could have a poll and you could vote for him to leave if we don't beat Watford.
Why the long delay...understandable if Puel was employed, but any delay can only be down to 2 candidates playing rock, paper, scissors, Puel dithering (show a bit of enthusiasm, man) or the desire to make an announcement to coincide with the new kit (would please Under Armour as otherwise no one outside the club will be interested).
Haha not really, not any more. This forum is very tribal. You've got your ITKers, your bed-wetters, your WUMs/trolls, your optimists, your pessimists, it's wonderfully cosmopolitan in that way. It would never be any fun if everybody was positive, although sometimes you have to draw the line ffs. One thing Les and the board have done in recent years is earn the benefit of the doubt, surely.
I must admit i wasn't keen on him to start but that was based on having never heard of him before and who else we had been linked with. I have actually now swung right round and am actually quite excited to see what happens. Having read a few articles on him and seeing his history i can see why Les has gone for him. If we do ok in the transfer market then i don't see any reason why this guy can't take us forwards, I for one am pretty happy with this appointment.
Tom can be as underwhelmed as he wants, I couldn't give a ****. Les has got it spot on so far, so I'll trust his judgement.
In my experience every new manager mentioned since the start of the Liebherr period has been judged before he has been appointed, mostly based on trepidation, anticipation and misinformation, facts seldom got in the way, the judgemental ones have all had to wipe the egg off their faces afterwards, one day they will be right and we will nominate a turkey, at least it will give them something tangible to vent their spleens on.
