Barton has been released!

It's about time. He obviously has no respect for the owners, so he shouldn't be here. I hate my boss, too, but I don't b**** about him on twitter knowing full well it will probably get back to him. If I was Ashley I would have released him the second time he shot his mouth off, not waited until the 4th or 5th time.

If it is true I very much doubt this. Bartons recent conduct has I would've thought given the club adequate grounds for dismissal, and frankly if they haven't thats yet another thing wrong with football these days. If I'd spent the last few months publicly slagging off my boss I'd have been out on my ear a lot quicker than this.

 

contingency should have been to sell or release Barton alot earlier when there was two quality wingers available in Menez and N'Zogbia, not now and replacing with him **** like Barnetta.

 

If this is true, then he certainly did bring it upon himself. That being said, if you strongly disagree with something then you have to speak out, and clearly Barton had strong feelings about how the club was being run.

I still have a lot of respect for him.

 

I can see him going to Spurs, with Modric wanting away he would be the perfect replacement.

 

I dont think he's been released, just told he can leave for free. He could still stay.

 

This smacks of unprofessionalism and ineptitude on so many levels. Faults lie on both sides here, and unfortunately the people who suffer are the ones who are left in the dark and are expected to take all the **** that is thrown at them; the fans.

After a brief period where we were steadying the ship and regaining the respect from the footballing community, once again we will revert back to the media frenzied laughing stock.

People say he keeps the spirit of the team together. He makes it worse and it's about time things were sorted out. We still have Harper, Saylor, Colo and Carver.

Barton has had 1 good season, he's been on the books since 2007 yet has only played 79.

We've sttod by him when he did time and allowed him to rebuild his career.

He didn't like the contract offered to him which was later retracted and proceeds to mouth off about the club.

As much as I loved seeing him play for us last season, the line has to be drawn somewhere and today the club have obviously decided enough is enough.
