Okay. I slagged off people which started relegation threads....i'm sorry because looking at it now you're right! Not just because Barton looks like he's leaving but if he does then there is something behind the scenes happening and i can see a few more going with no replacements now
The club stood by him when he was in prison and on the injury table. He's had one good season during his time here.

How can he owe the club when he doesn't have a contract? he was staying but has no choice now but to leave hes been released.
Why should I, he is the one spouting **** on twitter. He knew with an owner like Ashley in charge he would face the consequences.
Not on the Beeb or owt yet.... Can see them wanting rid for his comments but for nowt????,.... makes no sense man wait for a real statement before jumping in the Tyne. Still if it is true like, do yous need a lift down the bridge? 
Exactly. Not saying he wasn't awesome in that one season but you can't deny the club has done him a huge favour over the last 4 years!
Not to mention if I went spouting on social network sites which are open to the whole public about my boss/employers being twats and not only personally insulting them but shining a bad light on the name of the company who employs me I would be out of a job before I could blink.
Just don't get why people are surprised this is how it could have ended
How has he not brought this on himself? Would anybody here expect to not be sacked after publicly slating your boss time and time again? He has known what he was doing, or more likely has been told to do this, since day one.
It won't happen but this is the perfect time for the club to actually come and and be proactive, explain his dismissal and state some sort of contingency. If they did I think they'd be surprised how many fans may listen.

We got his career back on track and now it seems he's ****ed us over. Lost some major respect for Barton right now.
He had a year left on his contract so by staying quiet and not using Twitter to air his grievances with his employer who stood by him during his troubled times would have been better.
