Brought a Beijing Guan one back from when City were in the Barclays Trophy in The Far East. People always asking 'what team is that?' it stands out being bright green. Cover up the badge and ask people to name the team; it get's me a free pint every time!

Whilst on the subject of kits, why does our England kit have blue on it?
The English flag is red & white, with no blue.
We should surely only have red & white. The present English shirt is dreadful and almost all blue.

By that logic:

Why does the Germany kit have white on it?
Why does the Spain kit have blue on it?
Why is the Italy kit blue?
Why does Northern Ireland's kit have green and blue on it?
Why is the Netherlands kit orange?

etc.

What i'm trying to say is, who cares? Anyways, usually, the kit colours correspond to the colours on that particular countries' FA badge.

You don't know why the Netherlands kit is orange?

I know, I was just giving examples to the person I quoted of nations who don't play in the colours of their flag, as he asked why England play with blue on the kit.

Read properly next time.

Read properly.The irony!

There will be reasons, lost in the mists of time why countries play in certain colours. The Netherlands is one of the few with an historical reason for their shirt colour. Why England chose their original colours is a mystery. As the first country to play football it isn't as though red and white would have clashed with anyone else.
