If it's got to the medical stage then see no reason not to!
First Saint! Thread of the summer, makes a change from all the departure rumours.
£11m is supposedly the fee. A squad addition or a key player replacement?

As I said in the other thread, I'm more than happy with this signing. We are paying for his potential, his experience in the league, his importance to Norwich. Much more excited about this than I was when we were linked with Townsend - let's put it that way.

Never understand the fuss about what we pay....isn't our money and prices are what they are...the same fans would also moan if we missed out on players by being tight. The main question is does he suit the team and has he potential to step up to being a Saints player. If Les and the Black Box think so, we'll have to trust them. Nice to have something different to talk about. :)

Still a very raw talent, but like Townsend he offers a goal threat from outside the penalty area. Something we're somewhat lacking.

I don't expect Tadic or Mane to be able to cut inside and curl one in the top corner.

I've seen enough good things from him to be optimistic if we do sign him.
Don't think he is quite ready to be a first teamer, but definitely good from the bench

I blame the damned FM games. Prior to computer games fans just used to exchange views about whether a player was good or bad. Now they are experts on the wheeler-dealing of International footy, seeming to even know how much each player is earning. This means that Shane Long was overpriced and Pelle was a back-up at best in some people's eyes. So long as we don't spend stupid money on a player, I am happy to assume that the board knows more than I do about value for money.

Whenever I have seen Redmond I have always been impressed by him. Looks like he has all the tools to be a really good player. As I've not watched many Norwich games in full and just highlights I'm just hoping he isn't a "match of the day player".

If this comes off then my wishful shopping list for the summer would be - RB, CB, DM (assuming Wanyama leaves), AM and ST

He will need to add something to his game, an end product.

But good to see us using our increased financial muscle by prizing away a player from a Championship team.

At least if this comes off he will have EPL experience..............Obviously he will need to settle with his new side but that shouldn't take as long as others that have not played in the EPL.

It'll be an interesting signing, he's not really stood out that much at Norwich - but who does? Whenever I've seen him play for England U21's he tends to look like the best player on the pitch. Hopefully it's a case of him needing to play with better players to shine.

Nail, head, hammer. Worth a go for sure and if he adds this he could be a steal.

Well, he's obviously a player we've been watching for a while, which means that Sir Les is convinced he's going to do the business for us.

I welcome this. (always nice to add domestic talent too!)

When we first we're looking at him and it was in the media, I wasn't convinced (he was probably 12 then :) ) but since then I have paid a bit more attention and he certainly has talent and potential.

A lot of people will probably moan about this one, just like they did with Shane Long, Ryan Bertrand etc. Me, I'm very, very happy.

At Redmond's current age (22), Michail Antonio, was playing for Colchester in League One. Now look at him. A few more years and Redmond could be deadly.

Yep. Happy clapper right here with this one too. At worst it's a very solid signing.

And he's happy with 'Nathan'. I always thought Clyney was being a bit pretentious with that whole 'Nathaniel' business.

Maybe he'll even let us call him 'Nafe' sometimes.
