Mane is the kind of player we will see only very rarely at saints. Somebody mentioned most dangerous attacking player since MLT. Maybe not quite in same breath yet but not an unreasonable view.
Not as good as MLT....but who is? Mane can be a game changer...very hard to replace such an exciting player. I'm desperate to keep him at least for this season....so am hoping we ask too much for him.

Yup me too. No reason not to make him knuckle down 1 more season Europa etc then sell with 1 year left.

Very good news now it's official!

Already heard people moaning about this though, in that it shows how much (and too much) influence Les Reed has at the club, and that it's putting prospective managers off. My counter argument was simply that Redmond will have been signed with the blessing of who is probably going to be our new manager.

You could also argue that Redmond has so much confidence, in the club and the way it is run, that it doesn't matter who the manager is.

Norwich fan in peace here, just for my own personal opinion on Redders, and maybe why he may be better for you than he was for us, playing as a wide right attacker, he offered little coverage tracking back and as we were weak at rfb it did expose us a few times, if you have a better full back that side who doesn't need as much shielding form uptop as ours really did then happy days (pretty sure thats the reason Matt Jarvis got a lot of starts on the right instead of him, better at tracking back), as for going forward i have seen mentioned already in here he needs to improve his final ball, and yep agree on that, but not just final ball, but final decision making as well, too often he takes on a speculative shot from cutting inside, when a run outside and a good ball in would be the better option (but yet again thats with Norwich not having a target rich environment in the box as well)

I do like Redders and am sad to see him go, but understand why, and hope he can improve his development with you guys, he could turn out to be a special player, if he can be a bit more consistent and maybe play in a team that helps his game rather than make it harder for him to play his natural game, and if not you could always loan him back to us in Jan :)

Defense at right back was something of a problem for us, as well, though whether that changes this summer remains to be seen. Could also see us using him on the left, where cutting inside would free up space for Bertrand down the wing, if Redmond cannot be convinced to put in the crosses himself.

“I’ve always spoken to Prowsey what with him being one of the longest serving members in the Under-21s and throughout the age groups,” Redmond added.

“He’s always been trying to bend my ear. I spoke to him a little bit a few days before just about the area and how the club is.

Just seen above from Nathan's interview on the OS....good old Prowsey...he's a right ear bender alright. Surprised the team have any ears left. :)

He's our own Stevie Gerrard...at least in terms of tapping up fellow international players anyhow!

At least we can sell him to Liverpool for £50m in two years time when Puel moves to another Premier League club because he's a greedy tosser.
