France on paper are beast. Lack a top quality striker? Martial is very, very good... just a shame he plays for managers that are useless and play him out of position most of the time.

Their central midfield midfield will steamroller every other midfield. If they don't internally buckle then they'll win the whole thing easily I think:

    ----------------------------Lloris----------------------------

    Sagna------Koscielny----------Mangala---------Evra

    ---------------Kante-------------Matuidi-------------------

    Payet-------------------Pogba---------------Griezmann

    --------------------------Martial-----------------------------

Would an English player get in at any position in that first XI? Maybe Kane up front and a fit Shaw at left back but only cause Evra is so old.

I don't think N'Kante or Matuidi are anything to write home about. Pogba though is a monster.

Evra is like 40, Mangala is unproven and has looked average at best in the EPL.

They just dont convince me. Even though they have home advantage.

France are my bet to win the comp. Defensively I think they are strongest and they have the attacking firepower to hurt teams too

I think it is going to be a tournament of astounding turgidity with France and the Czech Republic boring everyone stupid in the opening match.

On paper Spain have a good squad but only Aduriz of Athletic Bilbao scores goals on a regular basis. Morata managed 7 in Serie A. Is he really a forward that is valued at £40m?

He has the technical ability though and his build us play is already top class - all he needs to do is work on his finishing. Hence the fact he's been picked ahead of Costa. This could be the tournament he makes his mark.

One of the best tournament adverts for a long time I think:

Benzema's miss is looking even more glaring. What was the reason why they left him out again?

    Anyone watching Switzerland?

Been impressed with Xhaka - seems like a good all rounder. Made some good tackles.

Good passer of the ball too. Excellent technique.

Have to say - watching Djourou for Switzerland makes me realise how glad I am we got rid of him. He looks so nervous under the slightest bit of pressure from the attacker.

Yeah, that was always his thing - always seemed soo timid and nervous. Shame because he had all the physical attributes.

Xhaka does have some tidy passing while looks like he'll add some bite and structure to our midfield
