Indeed, fair play. Sometimes the pond you're in is big enough, and he'd probably be still in the lower leagues if it hadn't been for Leicester City. He always has the option of leaving in 6 months, 1 year, etc...

True, but it is interesting that another club, albeit on that has just won the league, has managed to keep hold of their star players, like West Ham and Everton too. I know it may be wage related, however I wonder if this is the only reason that we struggle.

West Ham may keep Payet but Everton may lose a couple, it happens to everyone. Just feels a lot worse the closer to home...
If Payet continues to shine at the Euros (I know he's not playing tonight - in some ways that could make him appear even more valuable if France struggle without him) - how will WHU keep hold of him? Surely the bigger teams will come calling for him?
I'm already calling him Real Madrid's Payet (optimistically I suppose).
