I believe it's the Americanism where they try to be ironic. It doesn't work. However, Americanisms in the mouths, or under the fingers, of Americans is fine by me. It's when it creeps into British conversation that it becomes a step too far. And no, it's not language enrichment or evolution, so take that argument away where it belongs.
I might say NO, but no doubt someone will eventually. Probably sooner rather than later, and with a lame excuse for it too.
Let's just hope the board haven't been idle this last week and already have the wheels in motion for our replacement.
I think we should do the decent thing and wait until the Club deems it politically correct to announce it on the OS. It may not happen yet!
