Eder. He's 29 and after one last move to really establish himself and would be the perfect foil for Abel. He's of Brazilian descent but qualifies to play for Italy so although one is Spanish speaking and the other Portuguese, presumably they could converse in italian. £8m, £40k a week for 3 years and if they played together as a 2 he'd keep us up.

Will be interesting to see if Bruce wants him up front with Hernandez.

Doing what? You just said we started "in such a positive fashion" when we had 3 centre backs in the team and 1 striker, with another solitary striker - if you can call Aluko that - on the bench.
We sold Shane long days before the qpr game and immediately sought a replacement. As soon as we bought him he started up top with our other striker.

Talking about taking a punt with a non-league striker - I thought we'd already done that with Luer. Where will he be in the pecking order next season ?

In fairness to Syd, we did play a diamond with Diame, Quinn, Huddlestone and Livermore and a front two of Jelavic and Hernandez. It's by far the most attacking Bruce has ever been but it only lasted about three games. We scored and conceded a lot in those games and he quickly gave up on it.

And that was precisely my point. I didn't say we never played that formation or personnel nor would we never play it again, I said we wouldnt start the first 10 games next season with 2 strikers and an attacking midfielder behind them.

It lasted 3 games because Hernandez got injured. Then diame. Then jelavic. Then diame again.

Right, hang on - so all your posts about this magical line-up and formation and then, now by your own admission, it didnt really get used...

Before Lambo has a fit, that's the end of my posts on this. i didn't bring it up again on this thread and now I don't need to say any more.

Keep faith in the defence and the three keepers so no additions needed,
Powell in on an incentive deal and one decent, proven attacking midfielder.
Two strikers, one either of Grigg and Bradshaw who can adapt slowly or Crouch for a ready made impact player (too old to lead the line or play big minutes at 36).
Any of those above three as third man as well the one class act to be Abel's regular partner.
Diomande as fourth striker who will probably get better as he will be able to have a full pre season.

Powell played for Crewe Legends on Saturday, against Sandbach United.

I presume you're hoping we get relegated at the first opportunity?????
