I know but rumours are rumours!!! Do you expect any news on Bruce this week? His famous 10 days are nearly up!!!
Reports on who we're going after do seem strange considering our current situation. I'm starting to think they're just reporting on who our potential targets were in the last January window since they probably wouldn't have any new leads.
As I mentioned in a much earlier post until the situation with regards the owner and manager are resolved talk of people who we are lining up are very much premature, unless of course a deal has been struck between manager and current incumbent, and the 10 days is a bluff ! However seeing that this appears to be a wish list as opposed to a transfer thread, did anyone see how good Ronaldinho still is in the soccer aid game.
Get Mark Wright and Olly Murs signed from that England Soccer Aid side. Wright scored a free kick screamer and Murs has made Canavarro look a pub player.
You could tell which players were retired and which were scoring a good few for a **** team in the PL. Defoe was way too good for them. Also, Wright's free kick was bloody belting.
I thought Damien Lewis was pretty good too, though my seemingly apparent like of ginger players and that fact Lewis is one of my favourite actors (he's the central character of my fave TV show ever, Band of Brothers) might be clouding that.
Anyone saying we don't have enough money to sign players is kidding themselves. The owners may well choose not to spend it, but we have plenty of money to sign players. Yes we're not going to get first XI stars from other PL clubs, but that still allows for plenty of decent players.
In the Uruguay game they said Hernandez would be leaving us this summer. They didnt back it up with any info, it could just be the interest from Italy but they seemed to think we wont keep him. They talked about him a bit when he came on.
41 appearances for Liverpool last season, what makes you think there's any chance of him being available on loan?
Most Liverpool supporters seem to think he'll be loaned out. And then there's these reports: http://www.thisisanfield.com/2016/05/blog-consider-sanctioning-jordon-ibe-sale/
Liverpool have got that Ojo who apparently looks a better prospect than Ibe. So I can see the potential for a sale. Though I'd expect he'd cost a fair bit.
Maybe 20m? I wouldn't mind him for that, would have good re-sale value unless he had a calamitous season.
I wouldn't say he's unproven. We spent 10m on an 'unproven' striker in terms of the PL. The TV money is a bit bigger this time around. Ibe might be above our station, but I really would like to see any big money being spent on hungry, talented youngsters, rather than another Spurs veteran which we seem to always go for.
