Some of the stand outs from the last few pages of their summer transfer thread (not rumours just who they want): Rooney Schneiderlin Mata Lloris Chambers Mane Witsel Wijnaldum Janssen Forster (although also a comment saying they want "better" as he is an 8/10 player!!!) Giroud Wanyama Absolutely mental. How much money do they actually think they have for wages? I know this 100m+ budget is mentioned but I think their is some over and underestimating going on
I don't for one second think they want everyone on the list. But the fact that they are quoting lots of 25m + players when they needs about 6 before sales is what is quite funny. Ignoring the fact that they need to try and convince people that leaving clubs with european football will work out Like i have said I am very interested in how it will all pan out Hopefully they do a Man United and aim for players out of their range and leave the door open for us to excel in the bracket below like usual (one which will have players like Ziyech and Janssen in, even if we don't get those players exactly)
With absolutely no bitterness, I'm hoping that the fat ginger tosser turns up on Merseyside, loses some key players, spunks a load of cash on some bang average players to make up numbers again and then has to put up with hoards of disgruntled scousers slagging him off when the team fails to out perform last years team. If a series of plagues of biblical proportions happen in Liverpool too, then that'll be a bonus. I'm not bitter though, just vindictive
Eh, some of those names are sensible and I doubt they expect to get all of them. Mind you, Lloris and Rooney (for completely different reasons) are ridiculous suggestions.
Koeman has taken a gamble in joining Everton if he still harbours ambitions of the Barca job. His performance will be under scrutiny from day one and it is unlikely that the new money man there will be too patient and must surely be looking for his manager to deliver CL football. If Koeman fails to deliver and loses his job, his reputation could be tarnished irrevocably.
It was a quick compilation of multiple posts from their transfer thread. I know all wouldn't be on the agenda (notably I listed two goalies who would expect to start every game) I wouldn't be surprised in Man United are done with Everton after Fellaini and Baines so unless there are no other suitors I don't see many players going in that direction
As many have said he is taking his career back 1 or 2 seasons with the rebuild required. Probably 2 as the rebuild is similar if not more extensive than the one he inherited (just with more money to do it but much more to do) People can argue all day long about whether it is a step down or a step sideways (with most pundits saying not due to the historical base of Everton) but the facts on the pitch are a different matter entirely I think most of the football world thought he was one year away from the Arsenal job which would then be a lead in to Barcelona. I do not see him stepping from Everton to Barcelona unless he gets in the CL for 2-3 years in a row (which at this moment in time is a massive challenge) and even then that might not be enough
BREAKING: Sky Sports claim that Koeman's agent has contacted them and explained that he had been 'misquoted' in the Dutch media.
I would assume this is as discussed above a back track to try and make it look like they haven't pressed ahead without Southampton's permission and that it is all still going to happen Because if this all fizzles away things could get awkward as I imagine Koeman has been bombarded with abuse on twitter and many people a most of the way rationlising why his departure would not be the worst thing...
09:35 KOEMAN REPORTS 'PREMATURE' Ronald Koeman’s agent Rob Jansen has told Sky Sports News HQthat his client is yet to reach an agreement over the vacant manager’s position at Everton. The current Southampton boss has been tipped to succeed Roberto Martinez in the Goodison Park hot-seat, with reports on Sunday claiming the Dutchman had agreed terms with the Toffees. Jansen has revealed quotes attributed to him in the Dutch press “went too far” and that is was premature to say that a deal had been reached. We understand the major stumbling block for Everton concerns reaching a compensation package between and £3m and £4m for Koeman which, once agreed, will open the door for contract negotiations to take place.
FFS Can they just seal the deal already this is getting a bit boring now, time for a glass of red or 5 in the garden I think.
Misquoted! When he was quoted as saying 'yes, Ronald is off to Liverpool for the biggest pay day of his and my career', he actually said 'no, my client is an honourable man, and stands by his previous statement that he has a contract at Southampton and won't be going to Everton'
