The way the club is currently set up, I don't think that's his biggest weakness - it's dealing with egos and lack of ability to attract players that rule him out long before we even look at his ability IMO. We really need the type of manager that players like Sadio will respect - someone who has 'been there, done that'.
He's still the favourite with SkyBet to be Arsenal's next manager. If it's not to be Ron, it'll probably be whoever we replace Ron with (unless that person is ex-Spud AVB).
I think it's wrong you're able to do it this way. It'll never chang but the powers that be should find away to prevent this sort of thing happening.
Koeman was stange at times. He could show great tactical flexibility such as introducing the 5 man defense when we were struggling and making some positive substitutions. But arguably that tactical change was made late (after a terrible 10 game spell). Also he stuck with Pelle when he lost form for far too long. Shane Long had to really force his hand on that one
I can't see any player going to Everton. Unless they make a crazy bid for Wanyama. We did the same with Spurs when Poch left.
I'd be quite underwhelmed if we get Howe. I think it could well be another name that no-one's expecting, it has been for the past 3 appointments really
Can anyone give me a history reminder about who people were expecting for the previous appointments? I know Poch was out of the blue and no one had heard of him. But was Koeman not guessed by people in a similar thread like this?
What Germans are you thinking of? Most of the managers of the top German sides have not been in place very long as far as I can tell
Both are in the Champions League aren't they? And the Mönchengladbach guy has only been in the job 9 months
I have just looked and he has been out of work for a year since leaving Spartak. I wonder what went wrong? Was he actually highly regarded a Basel or were people just making a Swiss connection? I have memories of them troubling Ferguson's Man United...
