Not a recommendation but a complaint

went to that ponto in town for brunch with daughter
I ordered a coffee and it was over 3 quid for the tiniest cup of coffee I’ve ever seen
It was like a kids tea party cup

anyway I went in barista on Newland yesterday and they did the same
Couldn’t get my finger in the hole, oo er,
And two sips and gone while I waited fifteen minutes for my breaky!!
They’re charging enough ffs I want a decent cup or mug of coffee

I find that in the type of la di da places Chazz is currently frequenting, the best thing to do is to fold your arms and gruffly answer 'English breakfast tea; mug' when asked what you would like to drink.

As an aside, when saying espresso I always pronounce it expresso. It drives the wife nuts.

    Happy days.

I haven't been recently, but I've always found it a bit Meh and the service is really disorganised.

Black Horse at Elleker, now Villa d'Este, has a couple of weeks waiting list on weekends.

A flate white is an espresso with milk so often will be done in different sizes depending on the cafe. A quick google image search shows that.

My lad is the manager of Ponto in Hull, he said if you had asked you could have had a big cup of coffee, no drama.

Two weeks ago I tried to book a table for tomorrow night and couldn't get in (though I just rocked up last night and got a table no problem).

After I couldn't get in there two weeks ago, I tried the Westwood and could only get a table for tomorrow night at 9,00pm, which is past my bedtime.

There's so few good restaurants in the area, the better ones are always booked well in advance, Cerutti 2 is the same.

Santi's in Anlaby is really good every time I've been. The head waiter 'Ernesto' is a right greedy t*wat though. Desperate and borderline rude when it comes to tips. I always tip nicely but he genuinely asks for more and I don't like it.
