We've been in The Rose & Crown in Beverley a couple of times recently and It does decent grub...it's the same owner as The Railway at New Ellerby.

Plus great beer garden at the back.

It’s not especially fancy, but I’ve never had a bad meal at Furleys opposite Princes Quay.

What was that very formal, upmarket restaurant in Nelson St, opposite the pier? Seems to have gone now.

Taking Mrs R out tomorrow after she's let me get away with murder for the last few weeks. Good recommendations required. In Hull please.

That's the one, at the time, mid 80's?, it was the poshest restaurant I'd ever been in.
It was the first ever restaurant I'd been to where the bill for two of us came to over £100 (this was a while ago, mind). And sadly it was absolutely awful on that first and only visit. The wrong starter came, which was forgivable, and the main was still frozen in the middle, which wasn't. It's long gone now whatever.

There still is, but unless you remember to book ahead, you can never get in (Tina owns Cerutti 2, it was her dad who owned Cerrutis).
Tina’s the High Sherriff this year, so there’ll no doubt be even more functions going on there.
Nice place.
Was it her brother that ran Cerutti in recent years?
