Not convinced that will happen Fats.

They may struggle to spend all that, they're not a great propisition, bigger club yes but not yet set up.

Also I know what the new owner says about getting all the money from sales but I bet he doesn't let it all go...

Maybe, maybe not. The attraction to the players incoming will be £££££££££££££££££££££££

Well I am gob smacked.......Once again little 'ole Southampton being bullied again? I dispare at the narrow thinking of this board if the media has got this right. Signing a couple of good players on long contracts is just not enough. It just means that Clubs wanting to buy them have to throw big, big money to get them. Nothing to do with wanting to enhance the Standing of Little 'ole Southampton so that we too are in a position to actually win the league. Or to have a decent run in Europe.
I said it nigh on 50 years ago and I'll say it again........we will never be anything else but little 'ole Southampton until we get a real forward thinking board.........
If the rumours are true I am gutted.............

I think you are being quick to judge harshly Beddy. We don't know the full details yet (unless you do but can't tell us :emoticon-0105-wink:)

I simply can't despair at this Board. They are doing a great job. Maybe too good :)

Thing is, we're a bit of a golden ticket for managers right now.

Pochettino - out in the wilderness - comes to Saints and MASSIVELY improves his reputation. Now considered to be one of the world's premiere coaches.

Koeman - widely liked, but thought of as a man "who doesn't quite have what it takes" for a seriously big club. Comes to Saints, massively improves his reputation, until he's seen as prime candidate when the big jobs come around.

Hey, it's a good place to be chaps. Line up in an orderly queue.

I admire those who are able to see this as purely a positive. We are about to lose a good manager to a team which have done nothing the last couple of years. Yet again the board has put out all the wrong signals, making us feel positive in a negative situation. If we get an equally good replacement and the players are not unsettled then this is okay. If we don't? Well, the word disaster springs to mind.

I do hope the next manager is a little more willing to use youth though.

I am not convinced. We have an Everton twat spouting about it on here. No reputable newspaper reports just a load of teenage bloggers and betting odds. The Mail and the Mirror will print any old rubbish if they can stick the knife into Saints. Yet on this flimsy evidence people have started to denigrate Ron and look to a new manager. Let us just wait and see what happens as I still believe Ron to be an honourable man. He has a reputation for integrity and you don't throw that away lightly.

Charming.

Seriously, what's the need?

Ho hum.

Blimey it took me ages to read that lot. The outcome of it all is we still don't know either way. <laugh>

Unless the club push him out, I have to say, I will be disappointed that he's not the honourable man I thought. Haven't quite given up on him yet in view of the contradictory statements.

Bloody hell, woke up to 20 new pages, that's worse than the transfer rumour thread for new pages detailing nothing more than we already know

Just woke up and came here for news! Has anything changed since last night?
(Forgive me for not reading 5 extra pages)

No news except the Dutch media reporting that Everton will be announcing in the next 24 hours. Someone better wake Les up and tell him.

You must log in or register to see media

We've progressed each of the last 7 seasons despite coming through similar situations before. Maybe it's the others spending willy nilly without a plan that have it wrong? Similar to Leicester last year, they don't respect us so they fall into our trap and we counter-attack with ruthless business efficiency. <cheers>

There's alot of " Koeman deal to be completed in the next 24 hours floating around now".

I truly believe it's a done deal , just waiting for the announcement.
