Who would you have as our next Manager

I am not convinced. We have an Everton twat spouting about it on here. No reputable newspaper reports just a load of teenage bloggers and betting odds. The Mail and the Mirror will print any old rubbish if they can stick the knife into Saints. Yet on this flimsy evidence people have started to denigrate Ron and look to a new manager. Let us just wait and see what happens as I still believe Ron to be an honourable man. He has a reputation for integrity and you don't throw that away lightly.
Just hope your right, Godders

If Koeman goes, so be it, but for ****'s sake I hope we say to Everton at the same time that they cannot bid for any of our players for another two seasons.

More that both sides were probably interested, but with reservations. Koeman was interested in staying, but had doubts that the board was willing to spend enough to make their stated ambitions a reality.

So take a one year extension and punt the decision until 2017.

If the board had reservations, then they were idiots to say that it was just a matter of wrapping up fine details. Or leaking that they were so positive about Koeman staying that they didn't even bother having a meeting about Everton.

The hard facts are that if Everton is really going all out, we cannot match them. I would guess they have more flexibility under FFP, because of their revenues. And if they are cheating around FFP, I don't think KL is treating the club like her personal play toy, so won't commit the money others might.

I'd liken it more to a relationship that ends more or less amicably when both parties realize that, while they are happy together, they want different things while will ultimately spell the end of the relationship. They want to settle down and raise a family; you want to train an army of lowland gorillas and take over Denmark. Alas, it is not meant to be.

Relationships almost never end amicably, however much both parties may protest otherwise.

If if Ron goes to Everton, I piss on his chips and gob in his mayonaise. And I hope Everton finish 17th then get a points deduction for breaching FFP, causing them to be relegated.

Gutted that Brenda is at Celtic. Why couldn't this of happened a few months ago so we could have got a world class replacement.<laugh><laugh>

Agreed. That Les Reed interview and the Telegraph article from the other day don't really fit with what people have been saying about longer term differences or the idea that this is somehow a mutual decision. Seems pretty clear to me that the club wanted and expected Koeman to stay.

If this is happening, as looks likely, I'm going to feel really, really let down and disapointed by Ron.

It's not about money? Well, clearly it is. Going to see out your final year? That worked out well.

Sorry Ron, but if you've gone to Everton, I've lost a hell of a lot of respect for you - as I do anyone who goes back on their word.

I bet if he reads this he may just change his mind.

Our success and collective happiness depends your ability to get in front of Ron and work your magic...

The original versions of FFP wage provisions have been revised pretty substantially...I didn't realize that they'd been finalized (and edited this post as a result), but the wage cap has jumped quite a bit and will now jump in much larger annual increments. Everton doesn't have much to worry about, I don't think; based on their revenues, they could spend over 100m a year in wages and be fine. Neither do we, for that matter.

Well I am gob smacked.......Once again little 'ole Southampton being bullied again? I dispare at the narrow thinking of this board if the media has got this right. Signing a couple of good players on long contracts is just not enough. It just means that Clubs wanting to buy them have to throw big, big money to get them. Nothing to do with wanting to enhance the Standing of Little 'ole Southampton so that we too are in a position to actually win the league. Or to have a decent run in Europe.
I said it nigh on 50 years ago and I'll say it again........we will never be anything else but little 'ole Southampton until we get a real forward thinking board.........
If the rumours are true I am gutted.............

Beddy, do you think the "stumbling block" has anything to do with it? Or is it all about the money if he goes?

I was worried when Poch left but it did not turn too bad. I think the biggest headache if he goes is what do we re-name Koeman's Korner?
