The 10 days will be his holiday, where he will be regularly updated about whether the take over is on or not and if new owners want him/will support him. Also time to see what Mrs Bruce wants@
So how longs do these things take? Can we realistically expect it to be sorted one way or another in the next couple of weeks? Or is it going to rumble on and distract from next season preparations. The longer it takes, the more it raises the issue regarding transfer funds as well, who's going to do the paying?
Agreed. Bruce did really well to build the squad he did last summer considering we spent half of it ****ing about off the pitch. By the end of the window we were talking about it being the best squad in the division (certainly when Mo and Jake came back, followed by Snodgrass) but by mid July when we'd not signed anyone and didn't seem close to doing so it was worrying. That was when Burnsy was making his infamous 'more likely to go down than up' prediction. If we piss about again this year it won't be as easy to fix.
I think the 10 day consideration thing, could well be a polite way of saying to the press "**** off, I'm off on a fortnight holiday".
As Elmo, Hudd,,Aluko, Bruce and Jako (any others ?) are out of contract on 30/6 I hope he's left a note on what should happen.
Is there a deadline for when retained lists have to be announced? I'm sure I've heard or read at some point that there is and it isn't long after the season finishes, but a brief Google isn't telling me much. You'd really hope that whoever is making decisions on that is the same guy that will be managing us next season.
I can't imagine there's a deadline, contracts simply run out. If we chose not to retain a player, he left, and then we changed our mind a month later we can simply resign them. Hang on - didn't this happen with The Jak? Didn't Barmby offer him a pre contract deal, he signed it, it was revoked when Nick was sacked and then some time later Bruce signed him again? Edit - yes this defo happened. I worked at the club at the time. It was never formally announced The Jak had signed but he had. The contract was then torn up before Bruce revisited it.
Like somebody touched on Bruce is obviously frustrated at the allams I think he's being very polite about it and pressuring them for an answer in a polite way. He needs to know if this takeovers serious if so what the new owners plans are, if they want to keep him and if so what his budget is so he can start transfer planning What I've noticed from the allams is when we want info there's a silence When we don't and theres a game to focus on the allams are shouting from the rooftops with some ****e publicity stunt or half brained scheme How long do takeovers take what's the hold up
Aluko could be a great free signing for a championship side, with a run of games in sure he can get back to his best.
Probably bollocks... Is Hull FC owner Adam Pearson involved in bid to buy Hull City? please log in to view this image The Hull City 'for sale' story has taken an interesting twist with speculation that Hull FC owner Adam Pearson may be connected to one of the consortia interested in buying the Tigers. Two or three different groups are understood to be talking to Hull City vice-chairman Ehab Allam about the possible purchase of a club still enjoying its play-off promotion success back to the Premier League. No official details have been released which is no surprise as all interested parties will be covered by confidentiality agreements during any negotiations. However, the Hull Daily Mail understands that Mr Pearson may be connected to a British-based business group involved in the process. The former Hull City chairman was unavailable for comment. However, the insider was adamant Mr Pearson was 'very interested' in the ongoing discussions. Having Hull City and Hull FC under one ownership could also be welcomed by both sets of fans. Manager Steve Bruce may also be reassured by a face he knows. Mr Pearson sold Hull City in 2007 having bought them after leaving his role as commercial director of Leeds United in 2001. He has always enjoyed football interests holding roles at Derby County, Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United again. He currently has no football links as he enjoys watching his Hull FC club top the Super League. A second consortia is now understood to be American-based and may have been interested in buying Aston Villa until Chinese businessman Tony Xia became favourite to take over the Midlands outfit, relegated from the Premier League last season. It is also believed a third group maybe interested. It is rumoured that this group has a British involvement possibly tied with European or Asian backing. After City's Wembley play-off final victory against Sheffield Wednesday which secured promotion to the Premier League, Bruce said he was undecided on his future but would be looking for significant investment in the squad. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull...tory-29351355-detail/story.html#ixzz4APnb9p1y
If I was buying Hull City and was looking to hire an employee as MD / CEO who knows the club, knows the area and will instantly get 10,000 disaffected fans back on side then there's only one person I'd look at. I suppose it really does matter if he's part of an investment or as an employee. Interesting that he was unavailable comment. Adam is definitely the type to comprehensively bat it away if there's nothing in it.
