. . . . just waiting to pounce
I didn't fella. Must have missed the memo about the sweepBy the way, who the **** did you draw?
There are two ways to look at this. Firstly, there was almost half a million British killed during WW2 by forces who operated under this flag, with over 60 million killed in total.
The other way to look at at is that the reason so many people died was to maintain our freedom of thought and expression that the NAZI party would have taken away..
Personally, I would never display that flag, but that's just me.
That lambrettaman is a ****ing prick. He implied I'd been sharing kiddy porn, I won't be so easy when that **** comes on here
Yes you did, ****ing arsehole. Everybody seen it, why are you bothering to deny it?No he didn't.
Grow up.
Ok I started this so I think I should bring it to a close here are my thoughts and reasons for being offended, remember we are all allowed our opinion.
There are a number of members of my parents generation who I never got to see as the were killed fighting the Nazis, I have friends who's mother or farther were the only members of their families to survive, when the rest of their families were either shot, gassed or starved to death by the Nazis. During the 1930's there were a lot of people who thought that Hitler was a joke and in some cases agreed with him views. At the time a lot of good people sat back and said or did nothing. this is best expressed in the well known poem:
When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.
When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.
When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.
When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.
When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.
There is no way in which I am suggesting that safc83 is a supporter of the Nazis, indeed I would put him in the ranks of the good who did nothing in the 1930's and I accept that his use of the flag was meant as a joke and his inclusion of the picture of Hitler was as reaction to me asking him to remove the flag in the first place. I thank him for removing the image.
I agree that there is a fine line between free speech and censorship, however the use of such symbols, over time detoxifies them and allows others to reappraise history. It is on that basis that my objection stands. There are times when uncomfortable stands have to be taken, one of which was going to war against Hitler and when necessary bombing factories and civilian targets to end the evil which was taking place in Europe, those acts taken by themselves could be seen to be evil, but they were the lesser evil and a necessary one at the time. I see objecting to the use of the images as a lesser evil to protect free speech, I know a lot of you will not agree with me.
As to me growing a pair I thing that you need a pair to start with if you want to stand up for your principles and I will always do that.
I don't think I have ever been accused of offending people on here in the past and that while not the most prolific poster I have been here since the beginning ans stuck with the site while others have come and gone.
So now that I have made my point can we get back to football?

Yes you did, ****ing arsehole. Everybody seen it, why are you bothering to deny it?
Now, a serious chat which we need to have. Myself, and many other posters on here have children. May I ask what was going through your head to even bring up that subject when nobody had mentioned it? You need to explain because it's concerning that a grown man can get them sort of thoughts.
Well just continue on your way around the boards bringing up the subject of kiddy porn, out of the blue, thenAs it's impossible to have a reasonable discussion with you, I'm not going to waste my time attempting to do so.

Tel, if you read my post you can see that I never said it was about promoting Hitler or his views.You're choosing to be offended by it, and it is a choice.
It was never, ever intended to promote Hitler or Nazi's, so I am deducing from this that you walk into libraries and book shops, dvd shops, museums, car boot sales and many other places and ask them to destroy their merchandise or artifacts that may depict these images.
As for your last sentence, no, this site will never be about just football exclusively, deal with it.
BUT BUT BUTOk I started this so I think I should bring it to a close here are my thoughts and reasons for being offended, remember we are all allowed our opinion.
