Blunham, right on, I think you made a right decision there. But let me put this whole subject into historical perspective please.
The swastika is a symbol of good fortune that has been around - even in the UK - for well over 1000 years. Until the mid-1930s, it was displayed on the Boy Scouts savings book (thanks to Baden Powell himself). Till the late 1930s, it was the emblem of a Nevada bank, and displayed on the wings of the military aircraft of Finland. According to a Singalese lady I know, it is a popular symbol in Singapore even today! Take 20 years of Nazi-ism out of a 1,000 year history and this is a highly respected symbol. I would object very strongly if safc83 or anyone else was forced to desist from using it. That would be pure ignorance.
Before any restrictions are placed on use of the swastika, I would ask mods/super mods to refer the whole case to the Archbishop of York's office (Bishopthorpe Palace, York). The Archbishops See has many swastikas - either outer wall of the porch at Old Byland, either edge of the famous cross at Stonegrave, several grave slabs in Cumbria, etc. - if it ever gets to that, please refer back and I'll give you a whole list of nortrhern English swastikas, most of them over 1,000 years old, ok?
In my opinion, we need to all get together and wage war on the biggest load of silliness ever - political correctness!. As a young child Adolf Hitler's boys bombed me. But I'll accept Adolf rather than PC. Well done, Blunham.
