Walking in a Garden near Alderley Edge this afternoon, my dog suddenly went barking mad.

Followed him and found a mink dragging a dead rabbit across the flower beds, through the rhododendrons.

Vicious bastard snarled and spat and hissed at me.

Like I wanted his manky, half chewed rabbit carcass.

Me hound wanted in though.

I had to drag him off, much to his chagrin.

They don't show that on Springwatch.

Fairly.

It didn't look like a weasel or stoat. It was totally black and furry. At first I thought it was a cat but it wasn't.

I've never seen a mink before but I don't know what else it could have been.

They're like animals, those dead rabbits.

Pine Martens are more of your Celtic vicious killing machines. I don't think they're allowed in England.

Certainly not in Cheshire.

I'm sticking with Mink.

Although saying that, I suppose it could have been a small Welshman.

About 20 years ago we had a pet cat killed by a mink. My Dad found the mink on our lane with it's teeth around the throat of our cat. Vicious little ****ers. Best served as fashion accessories!
