According to Packham there are only 72 nesting pairs of urban Peregrines in the UK yet you still get bumpkins in Beverley not wanting the ones at the Minster there, surely if you keep pigeons and suchlike then you take into account they might get predated anyway.
Saw a stoat kill a rabbit a year or so ago. Ruthless. Then saw a mink dragging a rabbit last week. Not a problem for it. It was shifting quite quickly. Carnivorous, weasely bastards really show nature red in tooth and claw.
No **** but the other week I spotted two swans and their new cygnets. One was on the path above the stream that the other and the young 'uns were in, and as I approached it stood up and took two paces towards me, I thought **** that for a game of soldiers and went around it.
