Barkley?

Lallana?

Barkleys form been any better? Lallana can't beat a man, he'll look pretty trying but he hasn't the pace to actually go past someone in same way Wilshire does.

I'd take my nan over Townsend.

Only problem with Rashford going is that he's behind Studge, Vardy and Kane so is just there to make up numbers imo. Drinkwater should be there ahead of Wilshire, the lad hasn't played and should not be going. Townsend is simply **** and so left footed he's very easy to work out and defend against.

Rashford played primarily as RW before he broke into the first team. But as Hodgson hasn't played him in that position and neither did LVG, it's unlikely he'll play there for England unless it's absolutely called for.

Drinkwater should definitely have gone ahead of Wilshere. TBH I think Drinkwater would have been out of his depth at Euros but that's besides the point give the choice. Including Wilshere (and Henderson imo) is very unfair on those who've proven themselves this season.

I agree Henderson hasn't played enough to be included when there have been some really good performances from Drinkwater, it looks like Roy is struggling to drop his pals.

He only refers to them by their first names tbf. Which also sounds ridiculous when he says it. It's like your dotty old grandad talking about you like you're 6 years old. "Wayne did well. Daniel showed he's still got it, he's a good boy. I've always said Jack will show us what he's made of and today he did."

So I met Woy at a function a few years ago. He had just taken over at Fulham who looked doomed to relegation. Somehow he kept them up. I have no idea how as he is the most uninspiring football person I have ever met. I asked whether it was an addiction to football that had convinced him to take on what seemed like an impossible challenge. His reply was that he could "take it or leave it". I hope he displays similar passion to his players.

What a terribly average squad though. Cahill, Stones, Barkley, Henderson, Milner, Wilshere, Lallana, Sterling, Rooney.

All just poor and/or in terrible form.

LVG was the same except he called them all Mike.

Defenders: Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Chris Smalling (Manchester United), John Stones (Everton), Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur), Ryan Bertrand (Southampton), Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur), Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool).

Midfielders: Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur), Ross Barkley (Everton), Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Adam Lallana (Liverpool), James Milner (Liverpool), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal).

Strikers: Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Jamie Vardy (Leicester City), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United).

Yeh it doesn't inspire. There are some real gems in there like Bertrand though. The ones in bold imo have enough quality or have either earned, or have proved, the right to go. The rest are seriously questionable.

Be careful mate, you've accidentally offered an honest and impartial opinion. Drinkwater is ex-United and I know how much that usually grates on you <ok>

Yeah I would agree. Sadly we don't exactly have capable replacements for the rest.

I've said for a while now that England need to look to the future and play the young lads, give them the experience now with the World Cup in mind.

Not that you've got a vested interest in us being a roll over in this tournament like
