I like how people think Will Hughes is the best thing since sliced bread 'cause he played well against us in the second leg. He was injured for the entire season.
Did you never watch him play before he was injured? His injury would be just about the only thing that might make bigger clubs like Liverpool balk at signing him at the moment.
Whatever Derby ask for Hughes would be well over what he's worth and there are bigger clubs than us after him. Nir Biton at Celtic would be a decent option though, would cost less than half of what Derby would charge for Hughes.
Oh and give Nick Powell a deal, I think there's a lot more to come from him. On a free, can't cost a great deal can he? No big premier league clubs will be waving a large salary at him anyway.
Yeah, I did. He was class before his injury. I remember when he and Mason Bennett broke into the Derby first team. Fact is, he's played two games all season, one of them being against us in the play-offs. I think it's ridiculous some of you want us to sign him.
Fact he has been crocked might be what would open the door for a club like us. We are also Premier League with some well regarded players and manager....wait and he could well be out of our grasp. This lad is no Tom Ince that's for sure
Young, hungry, and fit in time for a whole pre-season. Shouldn't be worried that he was injured last season. If you think we shouldn't sign him because he was crocked, clearly bigger clubs won't want to take the risk either. Now might be our only chance, and I think 10-12m could get it done. We have to remember Derby spunked a lot last summer, and will need to be very limited this window unless they generate some revenue from player sales.
We're due to issue our retained list tomorrow. Jakupovic is hoping he's not on it... http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Eldi...l-Hull-City/story-29337916-detail/story.html?
Spurs have a ton of good young midfielders, any of which I'd be happy to see in our team...Mason, Pritchard, Bentaleb, Carroll....I can see another raid by Bruce if he's still here...we've done it before.
If we have the option we would be daft not to activate it. It's one area sorted really and one less thing to worry about.
I'd possibly jizz my pants if we got Hughes, but suspect that if any bid was accepted that it'd be swiftly matched by teams with more pull than ourselves. One name not mentioned so far......N'Doye, i thought he did a decent job for us when we went down, tho he was appalling for Sunderland last season, could be available on the cheap, would he do a job?
