With a lawyer's perspective, what does the word "concession" mean?

Every football ground has some seats cheaper than some others. Is that what you think the premier league intend as a concession?

Hull City are offering similar seats at different prices. For example the North and South Stands and the Eat and West corners. The question Mr Shoes is asking is does the difference in price between those areas offered to kids and pensioners concessions under Rule 7. I think an argument can be made they are especially if OLM is right that every Premier League club has areas where concessions do not apply.

Whether they intended that to happen when they drafted the rule is debatable. The question is will they try to enforce it and if they do will Ehab return to the Arbitration court to settle the matter.

The club will say the concession seating is the cheaper seating surely.

Why do the uneducated keep banging on about no concessional seating when there quite clearly is.... The reduced price seats.

Are the seats in Zone 1 cheaper for senior citizens or junior supporters? No the are all the same price regardless.

The upper balcony in a theater are not concession seats they're just the cheap seats as they have a worse view.

They are the same price for all, granted but they are cheaper seats than other areas of the ground... Therfore in my eyes they are offering cheaper seating which could be bracketed within the concessional banding.

Football has always charged different amounts for different views. They've also always given concessions to younger and older fans within those different views.

    Cambridge concise dictionary:-
    • concession noun (LOWER PRICE)
[C] UK a reduction in the usual price of something, made available to students, old people, etc.:

i.e not just saying well you can sit in the cheap seats if you want.

Times change. Just because something has always been done, it shouldn't be taken for granted.

The scheme is in place and I don't see it being changed now, by new potential owners or by the PL.

So you've changed your mind its not a concession? Also you don't care if the next generation of fans never get the chance to fall in love with HCAFC and instead pick a team from the telly?

BTW I bet you a pound to a pinch of **** the new owners change the membership scheme, reinstate the name on the badge and do everything they can think of to get the fans back in the stadium. New owners always want to be loved....at least at first.

At this moment in time new owners are "in my opinion" potential. I don't think there will be new owners, at least not during 2016.

Haha. another that doesn't like things being thrust against their own opinions...

Yeah I am looking forward to cheap footy.. The club have even been good enough to let me have my old seat in South Stand back next to my old man... They let me use the family card! I have nowt against them.

The Premier League rules don't mention concessionary seating they just mention concessions. Two entirely different things as any solicitor will tell you, especially if you employ them.

You may find yourself being moved if the Premier League say the South Stand is only available to those entitled to a child or OAP concession. Ironic if all the cheap seats have gone by then.

Then who will sit with all the children in the south stand? It would be a "family" stand not just children and oap stand.
The club have generously let me have my seat back as it is my 70 ish dad I am attending with.
I doubt the PL will tell me I am not allowed to sit there when the club have already ok'd it.

Its for families with children entitled to a concession as you implied in a previous post. If there's not enough room for any more kids in the South Stand you may find yourself evicted. Promotion may mean there's more demand for families with young kids for the family stand than available seats. Adults with no kids may find they will have to move out. The 21 page legal document you signed gives the club the legal right to move you.

If the South Stand is full I can see families with young children who can't get a seat complaining about their seats being taken by grown men without any young kids. Something the club and the PL would act on as it means no loss of income or maybe an increase if you move to a more expensive part of the ground.

The more successful we are the more the demand for the cheap seats will increase.
