I don't necessarily understand this sort of observation, of wanting a "product" as the "product" in question generally revolves around passionate and loud support for teams in the PL. I think there needs to be a move towards "active support" areas, as we have in Australia, and I believe Palace have either implemented, or have proposed. Have a bay in the Away end, and one of the home ends labelled "active support" and allow the people there to stand if they wish, and to carry on how they want (within reason of course). No one can complain about standing in those instances.
I was disappointed at our attendance but in retrospect we had both rugby teams playing, an owner who many despise, problems with the train and tickets weren't on general sale from the word go. But above all else, Wednesday are a much, much bigger club than us; bigger than Leeds in fact, making them Yorkshire's biggest club. We're not a big club, let's face it. Most of our success has been in the last 8 years of our 112 year history. We've won nowt of significance in those 112 years despite coming painfully close two year ago. We're not a big club but we can be. Establish ourselves as a Premier League team and get rid of the yo-yo club reputation and we'll slowly but surely be on the road to becoming a big club. Get kids supporting City at a young age. I was teased a bit at primary and secondary school for supporting City by my mates and others who A: preferred rugby and B: 'supported' the likes of Utd and Liverpool. Those kids obviously had parents who were just as much of an arsehole as them. Luckily for me my best mates who I met at sixth form were all passionate and exclusively city supporters.

I`m afraid I don`t understand all this `big` club stereotyping. There are a number of clubs who are successful in one form or another, there are clubs that are better supported then others, both Sheff Wed and Leeds do have fan bases much larger then ours, but how do you compare their achievements to ours in recent history of the last 12 years for instance. We have had 5 promotions, appeared at Wembley 4 times, been runners up in the FA Cup, played 4 seasons in the Premier league with a fifth imminent, and appeared in Europe. Both Wednesday and Leeds historically have been successful, but they aren`t now, and haven`t been for many years, their fans refer to them as big clubs, but I`m afraid they are only well supported clubs. At present we are by far and away more successful, so are we a `big` club per say ??? The `big` club status for me is a myth, its little man syndrome, or like owning a porsche when ya tadger is 3" long, merely a comfort blanket for those who believe they should get success, but aren`t.
Bournemouth, little club, Southampton little club, Portsmouth big club. Bournemouth pissed off their long standing fans, they disregarded previous support and put everyone who applied for season tickets into a ballot. Southampton got rid of consessions in the two central parts of the stadium. Season tickets are £875 for seats on the half way line for everyone. Son in Law and Grandson (13 ) will pay over £1000 for their season tickets. Portsmouth now owned by supporters average gate over 15k in league two. Being a big club is not dependant on where you are in the tables, it is about the core support and how others club compare with that support. As a supporter base we should stop trying to be something we are not, Hull City is not a big club. It is just Hull City.
Too right, I'm glad Leicester didn't try to be something they're not! There is nothing 'just' about Hull City. We are Hull City and we can do whatever we set our minds to. On and off the field.
Disagree about Southampton being a little club. You are correct about Hull City. Though for decades many of us thought if only we get get to the top flight and have some success we had the potential to be a big club,more at least as big as one with similar sized populations, Sunderland, Leicester and others...Unfortunately when our dreams came about the opportunity was completely wasted.
We've just been handed another chance, touch wood the Allams will **** off, and some more enlightened people will buy it.
