Have you noticed how all the blind optimism about next season, their manager and the players he is going to buy has almost completely disappeared on their board? It is as if this weekend's events has completely taken the wind off their sails
Course it has. It's been complete silence since we won, Luv turned up this morning but that's it. They are all massively gutted. I also wonder how they feel van Gaal should have been treated. Like Liverpool treated Rodgers for instance, sacking him mid season? Or like Liverpool treated Dalglish, also sacking him after winning them their only trophy for **** knows how long? Like that, is that how United should have treated van Gaal, with such clear class?
You lot winning the cup was the final kick in the nuts of an awful season, I didn't watch it. I'm still looking forward to the new season though, still very happy with Klopp. I'm not going to give him a kicking for the Sevilla game but agree with those who say he got it wrong, the midfield was getting murdered but he just didn't change it. Have to also give him credit for getting us to 2 finals though in a short time at the club. Mourinho it a very good manager, not so sure that he's the right fit for you but we'll see, he does play good attacking football at times but only at the start of the season, come January it's then shut shop and get the job done. Going to be interesting next season, some good managers in the PL and I think it'll be open again there's no deffo top 4 imo.
Seems clear Gotze has been scared off by the penny dropping he'd be joining a club that finished 7th with no European football whatsoever. Losing to Sevilla cost you lot more than just a trophy.
If he doesn't want on board then I'm happy that he's made that choice, he would have been an intersting signing but he's been on the bench all year so not some superstar we're missing out on. We need players who's heart is in it. The CB we've signed looks decent and the GK we're about to sign the same.
It will be interesting to see what he does over the summer - you could argue that he couldn't change it up too much against Sevilla because Rodgers left him with a bag of nails that had no real options other than "Bring on Origi and Benteke and lump it up to them". In theory with money to spend he can build a side which will allow him to have a decent plan B to prevent it going tits up. Then again that's been the same problem every Liverpool manager has faced since Benitez left you in the **** back in 2010, and none of them has really solved it.
I agree with the sentiment but should that apply to all players with a bit of doubt in his position then it's a long road back for you. He's a high standard player, scored the winning goal in the last world cup final. He would have been a great signing, I'd like him at United as it goes. (would prefer Reus) There's no shame in not being nailed on first team for Bayern. In fact, if he was there would be no talk of him leaving anyway.
