I didn't renew my pass for this year Predominantly for name change reasons, but obviously there was a build up of things outside of that Having said that I have still attended, (after a few months) but just picked games (I'd intended to just do away matches but that was more awkward than I'd hoped) I can't see me joining a monthly payment scheme, and I don't really get how the Match by Match works Either way I can't do anything yet anyway as I'm not a current pass holder
How about protesters wearing a dunce's cap at games to highlight the aspect about the scheme of being told to sit in the corner? A dunce cap, also variously known as a dunce hat, dunce's cap or dunce's hat, is a pointed hat, formerly used as an article of discipline in schools. In popular culture, it is typically made of paper and often marked with a D or the word "dunce", and given to unruly schoolchildren to wear. Frequently the 'dunce' was made to stand in the corner, facing the wall
There'd have been no red card protest if everyone upset had merely stayed away. More attention and press for that protest than the empty seats.
I'm talking about people still supporting the owner financially from when this scheme comes in. And not only that, continually claiming to oppose other actions and schemes while lining his pockets. And do you really thunk the red card protest would get more media exposure than the stadium being completely empty of home fans? Cos it wouldnt.
OK. I said a week or so ago I don't like the idea of criticising people for wanting to support the team but not going to push the issue.
Are you really suggesting that the corporate scheme is unbreakable before somebody dies? I'm no legal expert but I'm pretty confident one could get out of it.
There would be no problem cancelling the memberships, other than losing the £2,000 life membership fees I paid. I made the decision that I'd cancel it if the name change went ahead, but outside of that, no obnoxious owners would prevent me me from supporting my team. Had I been a regular season ticket holder, I would not have signed up to the new membership scheme by the cut off date. I'd have risked losing my seat, in the hope that the lack of people signing up would make the club reconsider its stance ahead of next season, but it wasn't a decision I had to make.
So corporate members can pontificate as much as they like about the scheme but still pay there fees and attend games. Yeah that'all show the owners you mean business. Enjoy the matchday experience next year corporate boys, thanks for your support.
I completely, wholeheartedly agree. I'm just perplexed by the continual posts criticising the membership scheme, including posting of the press releases, and general opposition to the owner himself but then a continuation of paying said owner and in effect endorsing him to carry on in exactly the same manner he is doing. Talk the talk and walk the walk springs to mind.
I can almost hear Allam quaking in his boots at the prospect of another post on a messageboard while he counts the cheques rolling in.
