When you think about it, is it that strange ? I mean, when you get to a certain age, 47 in my case, surely a lot of celebs of the generation before , and possibly the same generation, are gonna go in our lifetime. Everyone from Brian Blessed, Mick Jagger, Madonna, The Queen, Judy Finnegan....Even Timmy Mallet !!! All probably gonna go before me, I'd like to think......just a fact of life that we grew up with a lot of them.

And about 50/60 years ago the modern celebrity was born, there are simply more of them to die off now.
I hope that this isn't the norm from now on, however. It's actually pretty draining to wake up each day and discover that someone else who made your growing up richer through TV, film, or music has died..

I'm afraid it will be Chaz, my generation the baby boomers (born 1946-64) are entering the dying zone, and there are a lot of us proportionate to other age groups, with many having been on TV at some stage, i.e famous, or at least heard of.
That's what I'm afraid of. It's actually got to the point now when I almost fear opening up my web browser, because the BBC are going to ruin my day by telling me that someone else I loved has passed on.. The Death List (www.deathlist.net) publish a list of celebs that might die in the coming year. Usually they get to the end of the year with a couple of people going, but so far this year there have been five on their list. That's a huge increase. Even the BBC have published over five times more obits than they did just four years ago in the same period. When Warhol said everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame, I doubt he meant the quarter-hour would end that way...
