I've seen the full program... he makes one hell of a mess of the cockerel that was hiding beneath the snow ... feathers everywhere ...
I agree with the booking and red card. As for the description off the referee, generally in the match, for and against both side, Vardy pretty much summed him up so no extended ban! In all seriousness, the ref had a shocker and Vardy's reaction was heat of the moment. By the letter of the law, he probably would get an extra game ban. In order to not hand the title to Spurs and keep it interesting, and also to go into the Euros with strikers in form, I'd say the red card and game ban is punishment enough in the circumstances. Maybe that is more hope talking
Like I just said to Fosse when he said similar about our supposed indignation towards Vardy/ Leicester, I don't think you're appreciating the fact you're on the Spurs board here. You guys are coming over and disagreeing with everything we're saying when it comes to Leicester - which you're more than entitled too don't get me wrong, we love a good debate on this board but I don't get the ideas of this supposed indignation we have, it's not as if we've invaded the Leicester board telling you your player is a cheat or a joke, we've commented on what we feel he done in the West Ham match on our 'rival watch' thread which has then seemingly angered you guys and thus caused a mass debate, yet it seems to come across as though you feel there's some form of vendetta against Leicester, there really isn't I can assure you, it's just that a lot of this thread in recent weeks has been about yourselves due to the influx of Leicester fans commenting on it.
I'm starting to wonder if Roy's making it worse for Vardy? Do the panel go in hard to prove that Roy didn't influence them? Let the best team win and all behave like gentlemen.
... as I've said all along - Vardy could feel the tug/arm on his shoulder - he knows he's quicker - he also knows that there is the potential for a penalty - he deliberately steps across Ogbona (nothing to stop him doing that) looking for the leg entanglement ... not a dive because he knows with legs entangled they are both going over ... but does gild the liliy with exaggerated leg movements - which I believe costs him ultimately ... no penalty for sure because Ogbona leg entanglement is not intentional / foul play on his part ... but I also don't think it is a booking for Vardy, because the contact, however it happens, means that at the pace he is travelling he will be going over ... Winston Reid's was more of a 'dive' - arms outstretched - flings himself forward ... that is my opinion in full ... I accept that I might be in the minority on this board ... with only my good mate Spurlock in full support
... there is a precedent for England centre-forwards avoiding FA sanctions in games prior to the Euros ... might have been influenced ny Shearer announcing that if he was banned he would withdraw from the Euro'96 England squad mind
He knowingly moves his legs/ body into the direction of Ogbonna's run to give off the impression Ogbonna has gone into him with a poorly timed tackle, Vardy rolls over and then waves his arm up crying to the ref as if he should be getting a penalty. Cheating, booking.
So you think that he initiates contact in order to fool the ref into giving a penalty? That's unsportsmanlike behaviour then, wouldn't you say? What's the punishment for that, again?
... I think he initiates contact to get a penalty not to fool the ref ... initiating contact is not a crime ... many players wil nudge the ball past an onrushing keeper knowing the likelihood is that they will get clattered ... but will get a penalty ... not so different if you have the ball in your possession which Vardy did ...
You're saying that he initiates contact to make the ref believe that he's been fouled, which he hasn't. How is that not trying to fool the ref?
.. in this instance I don't believe he was fouled ... hence not a penalty ... but if you are quick enough to step across a pursuing player (which he is - and you are entitled to do if you are quicker) there is every possibility that the oposing player will not be able to stop his momentum and will end up fouling you ... the intent is not to fool the ref ,,, the intent is to draw a penalty from being fouled ....
He's gone across Ogbonna to shield the ball and both sets have legs have entangled. He's obviously going to think that it is a foul because he's effectively been tripped up. Only there was no intent from Ogbonna. Clearly not a foul, clearly not a booking.
In my view, he never got anywhere near far enough in front of the defender to justify trying to cross in front of him. He initiated the contact by moving into the defender and then blatantly dived. Simulation - yellow card.
He's not trying to get in front of his man and draw a foul, though. He's intentionally making contact with the defender in order to make the ref think that he's been fouled. He does the same in the Man Utd gif that everyone's ignoring.
I suppose all the years of getting nowhere has created fantasies among Leicester supporters. Perfectly understandable but a little sad. You're leading the PL now guys, yes it's real, enjoy it while you can and stop with the fantasy that Vardy & Huth are good guys. Vardy & Huth sounds like what they are, a pair of disreputable chancers who have struck lucky. Huth tutored by Pullis, which says it all, and Vardy who has come through the school of hard knocks with a vengeance. To get where you are has required guts and determination and Vardy & Huth are not lacking in that area, but don't expect me to applaud their methods.
he was far enough in front that Ogbonna felt the need to put a hand on his shoulder ...indisputably ...
... quite ... unlike the last 25 glorious years of titles, FA Cups and European trophies in the Spurs trophy cabinet ...
