If you are not excusing Vardy then what are you talking about.
Klinsmann dived, nobody here disputes that or condones it.

... a common reference on the general Prem board ... if it offends I do apologise ... I'm not saying that any of you have defended Klinsmann diving ... but I doubt you complained at penalties won (same on the Harrold one) by him either ...

.. the extent of the righteous indignation that many of you have towards Vardy's 'cheating' has little to do with the general principle ... and everything to do with your hope of overhauling us and therefore anything to help the cause ...

... how many of you didn't celebrate the last minute equalisr against West Ham above because Harry might just have manufactured an equalising opportunity? ... I suspect we both know ...

Exactly! What's to argue about ffs? He blatantly dived, got a deserved yellow for simulation, and then compounded it by calling Moss 'a ****ing ****'.

Now, if he'd called Moss a useless tosspot, I might have had a bit more sympathy!

Yeah, that was such a clear dive that they decided to use a completely different incident for their picture to illustrate it! <laugh>
The actual picture of Song pulling him back and stepping on his left foot tells a different story:

In short, you cheated to get a draw against West Ham. We didn't.

... nice still <laugh> .... but is there really enough contact to make a robust lad like Harry go down like that? ...

I'm not sure what age you are but I am guessing that you're too young to remember that season? When we signed Jurgen there was uproar about his diving in the World Cup and Euro's. Our first game at Sheffield Wednesday featured their fans holding up 6.0 signs as if scoring a diving competition. Jurgen was told by Teddy Sheringham to dive if he scored a goal to shut everyone up! He only ever did it in jest when he played for us proving Germans definitely have a sense of humour (look at their haircuts for God's sake!).

No ... I'm being honest enough to admit that Vardy manufactured it and it shouldn't have been a penalty because of that ... I don't think Harry is 'tripped' either ... he feels some contact and goes over very very easily ...

... Ogbona's arm on Vardy's shoulder has been readily dismissed by all on here as incidental ... yet Song is forcibly hauling Harry back? ... do me a favour <laugh>

... but there is a coming together of Song's foot with Harry's! ... it's a contact sport! ... "not all contact is a foul" ...

Can Harry stay on his feet? ... of course he can ... why doesn't he? .. coz he thinks that a penalty is a better option ... not much difference to the Vardy incident in that regard...

... nice to see no element of hypocrisy eh? ...

Anyway - had my say - will leave you lads to your self righteous indignation ... <cheers>

Once again, this takes us back to Premier League referees having an interesting interpretation when it comes to players having a reputation for diving: Klinsmann and Ginola had reputations for diving before they joined us, while Bale picked one up after Brendan Rodgers mouthed off to the press about him, which led to all manner of irritating statistics such as Bale getting booked for being legitimately fouled on more than one occasion or how we were awarded one penalty in 76 league games when Ginola was at the club.

Yet on the other hand there's the likes of Suarez, Gerrard, Owen, Showpony, Beckham, Scholes, Rooney, Young, Drogba et al who all have hard-earned reputations for flinging themselves to the turf regardless of the nearest defender not even being close enough to make contact, and the ref gives them what they want more often than not.

Last time I checked, there isn't a provision in FIFA's Laws of the Game saying one team should be given the benefit of the doubt as it's far more important they win than anyone else, yet time and again referees act as if that's the case.

Wonder what you thought when Alli dived the other week and, when asked about it, he grinned and shrugged his shoulders.

Is anyone here claiming he didn't? He cheated. He got booked. It's in the rules mate. You could look them up?

That's not even an image of the foul that got the penalty given. If that article's what you're basing your opinions on then you should really think again as they clearly know nothing about the incident.

Here's an actual photo of it:

There was also a clash of legs which tripped Kane up, which is not pictured.

But if you want to bring up examples of Spurs players diving, they're not hard to find. Modric did it against Real Madrid, Rose did it against West Brom, Zokora did it against Portsmouth(I think). It still doesn't change the fact that Vardy very clearly dived and got a well deserved second booking <ok>

Perhaps have the rules in mind when you next see the clip of Kane falling over vs West Ham then?
