If the term "bradistan" was intended to infer negative connotations due the ethnicity, then that would constitute a racist insult.
Good definition. I don't think it was though. I think it was a joke making a mild link between Bradford and the various Asian countries whose name ends in -stan. Based on the fact Bradford is stereotypically said to be full of Asian people. People for some reason want to assume that it must be aimed at insulting Asian people from countries ending in -stan. (probably limited to Pakistan, such is the intellect of these people) Stereotyping yes, racism no. Your name is racist to people from Spanish speaking countries.
There's something very odd about watching a game in an empty stadium, you can hear what the players are shouting, their No.5 seemed be shouting 'move, you ****ing useless twat' to all his players, all night long They were poor, they shouldn't be kicking lumps out of people in a pre-season and whoever decided they should have a pink away kit, should be picking up his P45. As for the debate on who should start in central midfield, based on the pre-seasons so far, it should be Cairney and Evans. I can only assume that all those picking McKenna, haven't been to any of the pre-seasons, he does play the Ash role and his passing's probably better, but he makes a fair few mistakes and he's painfully slow. I'd forget any ideas about Cairney going out on loan, I expect Bullard, Oli, Kilbane and Ghilas to all go, but NP has said Cairney is now in contention to start against Blackpool, so I doubt he's going anywhere. Kilbane was dire, he could have given away two penalties in the first five minutes after he came on(we had a stone wall penalty denied, probably because the ref thought they'd suffered enough). Ghilas was a waste of space, slightly better when he switched from the wing to playing as a striker, but he's nowhere near playing himself into contention and I'm sure we'll ship him out somewhere before long. Pusic looked decent, hard to judge him on 45 minutes against a poor Bradford side, but he did little wrong and caused them plenty of problems. Cairney was definitely MotM.
Only if you consider being from an "istan" Country as insulting and/or less than here. Without knowing the posters opinion and assuming it's an insult makes YOU the racist for putting your values on the words and therefore the Countries.
I left Hull 15 years ago; didn't return for 5 years. But, when I did, I walked up Spring Bank to Prinny Ave. I'm not surprised that I've heard people on this board talk of 'Springbankistan'. I quite like the feel of it and the Asian shops. The Kurdish barber is rated the tops by a good few people.
The barber must have changed, because in the past I've been in a barbers where that blokes clients came for a tidy up after he'd finished butchering. There was some cultural reason why they supported him, but I couldn't make it out.
This is kind of what I meant, everyone loves to take the moral high ground and scream 'racist' as soon as someone is heard saying 'black' or 'asian' in public. They don't even consider what the person was talking about or in what context.
