No, you are choosing to misinterpret my words. I'm saying that she played a role in it all and that I would hope she will learn from it, as she placed herself in a very dangerous situation. Johnson was correct;ly found to be criminally at fault, but the girl (child or not) needs to be sure that her actions were also wrong - how else is she to learn?

I really hope they drop the insane idea.

I would rather my pass went up then have kids excluded from football through the huge price rise

And what exactly did she do wrong? Put her trust in someone she idolized like millions of other adolescents do? How was she to know her idol was a ****ing pervert and that meeting him would lead to her being abused? I doubt she knowingly put herself in danger.

Btw I am not meaning to misinterpret your words and apologize if I have done so. However, this was hardly a relationship of equals was it? Him - a wealthy, arrogant, mature (in physical age if nothing else) bully who thought his standing and his lies could help him get away with his criminal acts. Her- a starstruck, vulnerable, immature young girl whose reputation was tarnished by her idol and by the social media morons who believed him to be innocent.

Clearly it was never a relationship of equals, it was an adult preying on a vulnerable child - I think we both agree with that.

The adult has gone to jail for his crimes and I think we both agree that is also correct.

I think the sentence is heavy,but that is my opinion, nothing else.

Where we seem to disagree is about the child. The evidence and statements released clearly show that she made some very poor decisions, choosing to meet in a deserted dark alley, allowing a man to finger her, taking a signed shirt as a 'gift'. She was 15yrs old, not 7yrs old. She watches telly, sees the news, watches movies, whatever else might inform her that her actions were not right, not what her parents would expect of her (I hope). She has to take some responsibility for her own well-being and safety; she must learn some lessons from this whole sorry affair and move on, hopefully wiser and safer. What she did wrong was to do the things she did with the full understanding that it was wrong and that enabled a slick groomer free rein.

its quite obvious the law is quite convoluted, cumbersome & littered with caveats BUT at the end of the day if you have to google to check if it is OK then you know you are in Shady St.

It's partly down to how much the judge's arthritis is playing up on the day of sentencing.

Doesn't sound right, but Johnson appears to have been made an example of, because of his celebrity status.
 
Johnson was fully aware he was breaking the law (he looked up age of consent), was in a position of trust, and is in the public eye.

No, he knew she was underage yes, but only found out the law after he'd put his hands down her pants. I don't think he realised how long he could go to prison for. After he found out he dumped her. At least in my opinion.
