The legal age of consent is 16, nobody below that age can legally consent to sex, end of conversation.
Your talking bollocks.

Why don't you quote me the relevant section number of Sexual Offences Act 2003 which says a 15 year old does not have the freedom and capacity to consent to sexual activity. The legal age below which consent cannot legally be given is 13.

If he reasonably believed her to be 16 or older he would have been found not guilty, because she consented to him kissing her and putting his hands down her pants.

However much you stamp your feet doesn't alter the simple fact she was old enough to consent to sexual activity. He was convicted because he shouldn't have sent her risqué texts, kissed her and put his hands down her pants because he knew she was 15.

This may help?

England and Wales
The age of consent to any form of sexual activity is 16 for both men and women. The age of consent is the same regardless of the gender or sexual orientation of a person and whether the sexual activity is between people of the same or different gender.

It is an offence for anyone to have any sexual activity with a person under the age of 16. However, Home Office guidance [1] is clear that there is no intention to prosecute teenagers under the age of 16 where both mutually agree and where they are of a similar age.

It is an offence for a person aged 18 or over to have any sexual activity with a person under the age of 18 if the older person holds a position of trust (for example a teacher or social worker) as such sexual activity is an abuse of the position of trust.

The Sexual Offences Act 2003 provides specific legal protection for children aged 12 and under who cannot legally give their consent to any form of sexual activity. There is a maximum sentence of life imprisonment for rape, assault by penetration, and causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

The legal age of consent in the UK is 16.

She isn't 16 and is therefore not in a position to consent.

Like I said have a look at the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and find a section of the act which says the legal age of consent is 16. There isn't one. It is not illegal for a man or woman to have consensual sex with a 15 year old as long as they have a reasonable belief that they are over 16. That means that a 15 year old can legally consent to have sex.

It is illegal for a man or woman to have non-consensual sex with a 15 year old even if the believe the person is over 16.

Sexual activity with a child

(1)A person aged 18 or over (A) commits an offence if—

(a)he intentionally touches another person (B),

(b)the touching is sexual, and

(c)either—

(i)B is under 16 and A does not reasonably believe that B is 16 or over, or

(ii)B is under 13.

So based on your own link it is an offence for someone over 18 to sexually touch someone who's under 16?

What happens if you have underage sex?

The law sees it as sexual assault - it's a criminal offence. This is because in the eyes of the law we are unable to give informed consent to sex when still a child.

A boy who has sex with a girl under 16 is breaking the law. Even if she agrees.

If she is 13-15, the boy could go to prison for two years.

If she is under 13 he could be sentenced to life imprisonment.

A girl age 16 or over who has sex with a boy under 16 can be prosecuted for indecent assault.

The law isn't there to make life difficult, it's there to protect us. Everyone is ready for sex at different ages but the law has to generalise. This is to protect those who are most vulnerable, from exploitation.

it literally says in black and white in there that the consenting age is 16.

It says if the older person reasonably believes the younger person to be over 16, even when they aren't, there is no offence.

Despite having been on this forum since the beginning, and seeing some right ****ehouse type posts, the ones from Obi in this thread, right back in this thread make me shake my head.

This forum is the only place I've ever seen Stephen Hawking seriously described as a 'fool', nothing compares to that!
