We were up 2-0 and then their superior team over-ran us. I would suggest the fact we took a 2-0 lead inside 10 minutes was a good bit of 'out-thinking' his opponent. The end result of a game of football doesn't dictate whether or not someone can out-think someone else about particular facets of play.
What like not reading what James Mooney said properly?? Then quoting a completely different season with no relevance to the point. Then getting it pointed out to you but you scuttled away and wouldnt reply to or acknowledge your **** up. Arf. just an easy one for you. Steve Bruce played 3-5-2 in his first season here. Plenty of maangers admitted their team couldnt get to grips with it. Many more but whats the point you cant acknowledge it.
Bruce was one of the first to employ 3-5-2 recently, and a number of teams adopted it on the back of our success with it.
Go look yourself. Please ignore the 3-5-2 as well then as Syd posted. Was that Bruce thinking and presenting the oppo's with a problem? No apology for your **** up then, on the other thread?.
http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2014/sep/08/jim-smith-qpr-revolution-352-first-division 3 5 2 has been going for almost 30 years - if you want to believe it was Brucie then carry on
Mooney was comparing when we were last in the Championship - the last time was 2010/11 to 2012/13 - the obvious comparison was to make the first year in the Championship after relegation - you decided to compare with a different year with no logical basis
You've ****ed it up and using your own agenda to score points. What he said M noted that although prices are up 36% on our last Championship season, gates are broadly similar, leading to increased revenue. 58% of current season ticket holders are full paying adults. Geddit eh!!!
"recently". It had fallen out of fashion. I am aware Steve Bruce wasn't the first man in history to use it... Qpr and others cited our use of it as the reason they adopted it.
so QPR and City adopted 3 5 2 - and where are we both now - hardly a ringing endorsement of success and out thinking the opposition
We won promotion, got to an FA cup final, and Europe using it. There were a lot of issues last year but the 3-5-2 wasn't one of them.
The problem with 3-5-2 last season was Brucey regularly sticking with it when the players available were better suited to a 4-4-2. Now we have a squad that arguably better suits a 3-5-2, we barely ever use it.
Who would we play as the second striker at the moment though? Akpom? Dio? Neither have looked brilliant, and Diame works better in that CF role.
There's no reason why the front two can't remain Diame and Hernandez, but if it was to change, it would be to Akpom and Hernandez.
I don't think Bruce sees diame as an out and out striker. If we were to change he'd play in that central 3.
